Who was it at the podium last night?

Satan? Or a certain Bavarian, vegetarian, failed artist?
I first heard reports of the Biden speech on BBC Worldservice radio, all about the other side “not accepting the will of the people”, “promoting political violence” “wanting to restrict free speech” and I was confused, “I thought it was supposed to be a Biden speech?! … this sounds like De Santis hammering the Dems”.  What’s going on?
Turns out it was a Biden speech, of course. Just that he was engaging in massive projection. Reported by the BBC with none of that context. Which I thought was blazingly, blindingly, obvious -- that the things that Biden was criticising the Republicans for, are precisely the things that Dems have been doing  for ages.
Consider:
1. The Democrats spent four years “not accepting the will of the people” after the 2016 election. Here is a montage.
2. The Democrats spent all of 2020 “promoting political violence” in cities across America, incited by Black Lives Matter, supported by the violence of Antifa, dozens killed across the nation, billions of economic losses — largely to minority run businesses. And the Dems reaction personified by Kamal Harris who started a Gofundme to pay for bail.
3. The Democrats sent in the FBI to suppress the free speech of Facebook and Twitter in reporting in a true story that might have turned the election.
So one can see why they might have been the talking points of a De Santis or other senior GOP.  But it really was the gall of a Biden to project these onto the MAGA Republican. Now touted as “enemies of the people”. Quite rich. Quite the chutzpah. Quite the single most massive example of hypocrisy, just about, that I’ve ever seen. And I speak as no Trump supporter, just as hater of hyper. Go, Brandon!
By the way, the pic above is an official one. I first thought of the speeches at the Reichtag by a certain e gentleman in the 1930s.  There’s the whole Red and Black vibe. Very Leni Riefenstahl. Others saw Satanic.
Want to see positive reports: CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NYT, WAPO, will do it.
Want to see critical reports: FOX, DW
Prof Alan Dershowitz has a take down the middle. Far Left and Far Right both culpable, but Far Left more dangerous because they have much more influence in the Academy, media and government. And Douglas Murray his usual felicitous one, and taking on the fact that the president of the United States really did call half the country, the actual people who don’t vote for him, “fascist”. Shocking and terrible and wrong. ADDED: some say the Republicans have called Dems “fascist”, and it’s true they did, but they called policies fascist, in the hurly burly of political debate. Policies. Not people, not whole swathes of people. Who are now going to feel so aggrieved, not because they are fascist, but because they are not.
