“They lied to us about George Floyd” | Glenn Loury and John McWhorter

John McWhorter in a lovely mixed metaphor: “All they told us about the George Floyd issue was a web of bullshit”. Glenn Loury is a wonderful, tough, host of the show.They’re discussing the new doco “The Fall of Minneapolis”. (But what’s this? I thought the trial was well over??).

And harmful to the body politic of America. And harmful to American race relations. Think all the riots around America in 2020. The people killed — mostly young Blacks — the property destruction in the tens of billions, all this based on a lie??

Despite which John thinks the facts — that Floyd was not murdered by the cop, Derek Chauvin, but instead died of an overdose of meth and fentanyl — is going to be accepted by anyone on the Left. Because they are too invested in The Narrative. Which is: racist police are out to kill innocent Blacks. Randomly and anywhere. The facts being that police do not kill Blacks at any higher rate than they do other races. And that the number of unarmed Blacks killed every year by cops are single digits (not the “thousands” that the average person guesses).
