The rest of the world hardly mentions Covid. Here in China, it’s Covid non-stop

It dawns on Beijing that draconian lockdowns savage the economy. Rich cities and rich provinces are running out of money. Investors are staying away in droves. Debt is up — it’s “drinking poison to cure thirst”. So Beijing changes course. 

But…  after three years of “Zero Covid” the shackled populace is afraid to throw off its shackles. Now there’s “mass fear” of being free(er):
