Even the police in China now wear PPEs, like the cops guarding the entrance to the barracks, above. And then Chinese apparatchiks wonder that the population is super scared of the virus. They made it so. It’s actually pretty bad. People who have or have had Covid, are shunned. Crazy. 

“Remember When Western Technocrats Gushed over China’s ‘Zero Covid’? With some judicious hammering of the WHO, who deserve every bit of it. They were carrying water for China from the outset. They made it worse by their actions and inactions early on. 

I never gushed, coz I never bought the “Zero Covid” idea, and I didn’t buy that idea because I listened to virologists, right at the beginning of the pandemic, tell us that getting to zero would be unattainable. And that’s turned out to be true. All along. China has always been in a kind of “King Canute” situation. Right now it’s time that tide turned. The old spelling of “Canute” is “Cnut”. Avast, Cnut!  Cunning linguists, are we not?
