It is useful to refer to whenever you see a claim that an event is “unprecedented”, often with the rider that it’s “due to climate change”.
The Dashboard doesn’t go into causation. But it does answer the question: “is this event the worst ever?” Where does a particular event fit in historically?
The Dashboard covers the eight indicators suggested by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, (IPCC). Heat waves; Tornadoes; Flooding; Drought; Winter storms; Wildfires; Cold extremes; Hurricanes (aka Typhoons).

There is also: Global Typhoon Tracker. Living here in the typhoon territory of Hong Kong, I’m very interested in this one. So far this year, the typhoon events have been normal.
