Terrorist List Update; Terrorist Organisations; Terrorist Groups (II)

Sigh... we’re back to needing an update of the number of terrorist groups in the world that are Islamic. I did a list back in 2016; at the time 95% of religiously based terrorist groups were Islamist.

Gad Saad reads the list from his latest book. The list of the US State Department List of Global Terror Groups. That list is 100% Islamist. It’s worth listening just for Gad’s Arabic readings.

There’s a connection to the Sam Harris comments on the Triggernometry podcast this morning, in which he says we have to be clear on the lesson from dealing with Hamas: we are at war with Jihad. I agree. Yet the west and China are pushing the “Two State Solution”. That’s dead and has been so at least since 2000 and the Camp David accords. To pursue that is to pursue a fantasy. A dangerous fantasy because it can’t lead to peace but only give the illusion of peace. And still, bone-heatedly, the West, Russia, China, all continue to call for the “Two State Solution”. This is bizarre. And nonsense to boot.

In the war we’re in, we have to consider our strategies. Sam suggests that of Robert Kaplan: namely covert killing of Jihadists. This from the careful Sam Harris. Argument: that there’s no negotiating with Jihadists -- you can’t satisfy them with land swaps, or money or nation states. Yet leaving them be to grow is a clear and present threat to civilisation, for they are, they really are, a death cult. Covertly killing self-identified violent Jihadis will reduce the “collateral damage”, which is going to happen anyhow, with the IDF attack on North Gaza.

Gad Saad grew up in Lebanon. When Lebanon was lovely. Beirut the “Paris of the East”. I remember it in the 1970s. Then flooded by Palestinian refugees from wars waged by them and other Arabs on Israel -- all won by Israel. The result for Lebanon -- which Gad describes in his books -- is today’s mess of militarist Islam, run by the terrorist Hezbollah. A shadow of the former brilliant Lebanon.

That’s why Jordan, Syria, Egypt, none of them, will accept refugees from Gaza. They’ve learnt the lesson. They know their societies, which are far closer in culture to the Gazans, will be ruined by them. But everyone is fine with welcoming Gazan refugees into the west, with its far different culture. Which will be similarly ruined. Go figure.

[I’m guessing that those on the Left, if they ever read this, would say it’s “misinformation”. At the least. It’s not. It’s a view. People are welcome to counter this view. I’m not averse to discussion and contention. Unlike, sad to say, many on the Left]
