Those are flowers being grown for the European market. Which was going fine as an export business for Kenya, until the EU bureaucrats decided that their own tulips needed protection so they out in punitive tariffs and NTBs which decimated the industry for Kenyan farmers. 

Not sure what the latest on that is, though I have some impressions that there’s been a bit of recovery. 

After all: “Trade is better than Aid” those same EU apparatchiks keep reminding us.
