Will "President Bernie" turn America into Venezuela?

Will "President Bernie" turn America into Venezuela?
No, I don’t think so.
For two reasons:

a.  The Separation of Powers, enshrined in the American Constitution. It has kept the country safe from a “King Trump", a “fascist" Trump, an “authoritarian" Trump and it will do so for any of the crazier ideas that Bernie has.  (And they are many).

b.  Bernie himself. He’s been consistent in his Socialist views, but not all that brilliant in getting them enacted. Sure, he has moved the Democratic party to the Left. But if you look at his legislative achievements, they’re virtually nil. Within the US Congress he is furthest Left on “Ideology" and lowest on “Leadership" in analysis by the non-partisan govtrack. (“Leadership” here measuring the success in enacting legislation).
Just what America needs now, a far-Left president with no leadership skills...
Still, if he won’t turn America into Venezuela maybe it’s “don’t worry, be happy”? Right?
Well,  he can still try hard to bring about Our Revolution he so yearns for... and cause grave damage thereby. The “road to hell” and all that. (It’s true!)

I found this article [Internet archive] interesting and learnt two neologisms:

1.  “Sandernista”.  This is such a clever play on the Marxist Sandinistas that I’m surprised it hasn’t been coined before.  Kudos to Kyle Smith.

2.  “Baccalaureate proletariat”.  Another from the pen of Mr Smith. Aptly, concisely, summing up the young folks who have gone to College in America, taken on huge debt, and studied something like “gender studies” and -- strangely -- found themselves unemployable.  They’re the ones who are “feeling the Bern”.
There’s another thing I learnt about the Bern. That he really did post this (mentioned in the Smith article) and it’s on his Senator Sanders Website [my emphasis]:
These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger. Who's the banana republic now? [Ref]
The American dream best realised in Venezuela. Ok, Bern....
