It’s Riley Gaines, who comes out against trans women in sports.
There are people, like Kelley Robinson, the congresswoman in the clip above, who don’t know the difference between an average and outliers. An average man can’t beat Serena Williams at tennis. But the outlier men -- aka “professionals” -- can beat her easily because they are men. As she herself acknowledges in her talk with David Letterman.
The difference between men and women cannot be wiped out by trans women taking testosterone-suppressing hormones. It doesn’t work like that. If trans women -- aka men -- transition after puberty, they continue to have nearly all the advantages of a male body, no matter how many hormones they take. That’s been shown and proven by many academic studies as we hear from Sharron Davies, Olympic Silver medallist and campaigner to keep trans women out of women sports.
ADDED: The same question has the be answered again and again. As in: “isn’t it the case that trans women take hormones and that that removes their advantage?”. Answer: no. Sharron Davies handles it well. But, goodness, it really does need to be answered again and again. Like these people asking the questions never bother to see what’s been said before. No research.
