“How social media inspired Indonesia’s born-again ‘hijrah’ Muslim millennials” | SCMP

This is absolutely not good news. Young people in Indonesia — the most populous Muslim-majority country in the world and right on our doorstep — becoming more pious. Hewing ever more closely to Salafist Islam.
"More pious" means, even according to the article, not just giving up alcohol, but also giving up music and giving up going to non-Muslim shops (only if you must. Like Starbucks, if no other coffee is available...).
And also means islamic treatment of women as in the picture above: women outside a Starbucks in Jakarta, outside because they are not allowed inside to mingle with men. Think on that. Women not allowed inside a coffee shop.
Because: "pious".  And "being pious" means following the prophet Muhammad, who is "made victorious by terror", who hates all non-Muslims, who despises Jews as "apes and pigs", who thinks his Hell is full of women. Who is — to pious Muslims — the "perfect man" to be followed unquestionably, protected by screaming faithful, protected to the death, by being drawn, by being cartooned. The whole sorry saga of islam's fundamental beliefs and tenets: that's what being "pious" means.
Not good.
