To the extent that we know anything about Hoda it's that she was active as a legal representative for people taken away, in the middle of the night, and "disappeared" into the maw of the Sisi government. And it appears she was arrested because of that.
There is some evidence that she is or was a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, but not a lot, and none that she is senior and active.
I have no time for Ilhan Omar, who I view as an Islamist antisemite. But on this issue she's got a point and the critics are just barking up the wrong tree.
