Each of these apparatchiks is paid millions per month, by we HK taxpayers. The highest paid bureaucrats in the world. Yes, really!
They aren’t wearing masks: so what it it? Either (1) Masks don’t work, or (2) They — our highest paid bureaucrats— are irresponsibly putting themselves at risk. I know the answer — and so must they, for “by their actions shall ye know them” — so why don’t they drop the ridiculous mask mandates here in Hong Kong?
Our Chief Executive John Lee there in Dubai promoting the Greater Bay Area. Isn’t that Beijing’s job? Or are the roles of our dear leader and Beijing now indistinguishable? Coterminous?
Above pic is front page today’s South China Morning Post and is a “Handout”. So presumably it’s the best the government could find! Just look at the circled ones! Could they be any less engaged?! Or maybe it the food they don’t like. No Dim Sum. [Conspiracy Theory version: someone, or some group, is out to make Hong Kong look ridiculous].
I’m noting, too, that Lee’s interlocutors are all women, presumably representing some of the most senior in the Dubai government. Interesting. Gotta say, they look more interested and engaged than Grumpy & Co.
