Also: the highlighted bit. That there is “no recognised best … solution”. But …but… “the science”?? If there are four approaches -- a, b, c & d -- surely the science requires we compare them to see which has the best results according to agreed and consistent criteria.
I can pretty much predict the wording of a government inquiry: “overall we performed rather well, although there are some areas we could improve."
They are keeping the mask mandate for everywhere, indoor and outdoors . For which there is zero science, especially outdoor, and only marginal for indoor. One thing I don’t get about masks is people saying “what’s the big deal about wearing a mask?”. For me the big deal is not being able to see people’s faces. I’ve even failed to recognise masked old friends. That is horrible, for the — at best — marginal benefit masks may have. The government has failed to show us one bit of science on why they’re keeping the mask mandate. It seems to be faith alone. Faith.
