Israelis in cities across the country's central region woke up early Wednesday morning to air-raid sirens warning of incoming terrorist missiles fired by Iran-backed Hezbollah from Lebanon. The attack comes after a series of major Israel Defense Forces victories over the past week.Tune in to "Israel Undiplomatic" for a complete assessment of what has been happening and how things may unfold between Israel, Hezbollah and the Islamic Republic of Iran.Join JNS senior contributing editor Ruthie Blum and Mark Regev, former Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom—both former advisers at the Prime Minister's Office—as they share insights not to miss.
I’m with Ruthie on this. Hardline. Not the language of luvvie-peacenicks. But the language understood in the region. Victory. Not capitulation. Or… capitulation but only by the terrorists. Not by Israel, especially when it has all the power.
Five big Israeli wins to celebrate. All the “booms”:
- Beep, beep, boom. The pager attacks. Acts of counter-terrorism
- Walkie Talkie boom. The mobile radio attacks. More acts of counter terror
- Fly-by boom. Jets over Beirut, breaking the sound barrier to show who’s got air superiority
- Beirut bombing boom: killing 13 top Hezbollah bosses in their Beirut apartment
- Boom boom boom. The current air attacks in Hezbollah missile bases
Mark is upset at Leon Panetta calling Beep, beep, boom an “act of terrorism”. Mark is right to correct this and to be upset. But remember Panetta is a long-time Democrat. Democrats right now are driven more by the Islamist vote in Michigan, than by the reality of war in southern Lebanon. So much so that they can’t recognize that a long-time democratic ally is engaged in an existential war.
Mark speculates that Iran may not be helping Hezbollah because they have Hezbollah in place to protect Iran’s nuclear bomb program. Not to further the “Palestinian” cause.
