Siena Pool, Amalfi Apartments, Discovery Bay, Hong Kong

ArabCon at Dearborn, the Islamic State of Michigan

Dearborn, Michigan, now the home of Somalis in America has a Somali mayor who just recently kicked some Christian's out of the town, told them not to return because "this is our town now".

This is NOT a repeat of previous occupations of cities or city blocks by "Little Italy" or "Korea Town", or the Irish, or Hasidic Jews, or whatever. This is new and far more sinister. It is a supremacist ideology that cannot abide anyone, even the host country natives, to be in their now-occupied space. It is an ideology that requires the rest of us to bow, to submit, to its will. It is an ideology, not just a religion, that demeans women, hates gays, suppresses free speech, discriminates against non-Muslims, the whole dreary and horrid mess of it.

How will America handle this? I don't know. But I hope, I can only hope, that America handles the threat better than the supine Europeans have done.

Tal Oran, the Travelling Clatt has his own take. Which is: deport them!

"This Isn't Science, It's Ideology" | Kathryn Porter

This is very nerdy. But super interesting if you have the time.

I learned about the difference between AC (the standard grid) and DC (renewables), the difficulty of going from DC to AC, the importance of keeping the electricity going through the wires at a fixed frequency -- usually 50Hz.

And that there's the concept of "inertia" that affects how all this fits together and how it makes for the dangers of a Spanish-style blackout. Kathryn Porter explains all of this very well. To Konstantin Kisin and Francis Foster, the lads at Triggernometry.

In the UK, the cost of moving to renewables is hidden in the electricity bill. That's why they're higher than ever. But why people don't notice it quite so much, because it's not defined openly, as a tax would be.

I suspect that the same is true in Australia, which is why bills are going up, when they are supposed to be going down, according to our political masters.

This video is really worth sitting down to listen to.

Final point: renewables are NOT cheap. They're most certainly not the cheapest. So says Porter. With the receipts.

Side note: we here in Hong Kong already have the emissions per capita that Australia is struggling to reach. But we've done it by a combination I call NAG: Nuclear and Gas. Kathryn Porter says pretty much the same. But Australia says "NO" to Nuclear. Which to me calls into question the whole Net Zero project. It's not just the U.K. It's every other nuclear nation that's powering ahead with new Nuclear projects.

Shame on us.

"Debunking Palestine Lies"

You can fact check this, if you want. And perhaps should, if you're sitting on the fence, or, heaven forfend, on the  "other side", on the "Free, Free Palestine" side.

Which I'm not. But if you are, you have a ways to go to get to accepting this history of where we're at there in that most troubled part of a troubled world. Perhaps you never will get to recognising the above history, for that's the nature of both cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias. Still, fact-checking might help.

For the classic case of Confirmation Bias, look no further than the world's Doom Goblin, Greta Thunberg, ex climate activist, now pro-Palestine activist. Last year when apprehended by the Israelis on her pathetic little "Freedom Flotilla", she was offered to watch the uncut videos of what the Gazans, Hamas and ordinary citizens, did to the young Israelis at the music concert that morning of the 7th October, most of which was filmed -- gloatingly, ghoulishly -- by Gazans themselves... When offered to watch it, she and all her crew mates refused. They didn't want to know the truth. They couldn't have their bias un-confirmed.

I've done my own fact check of the above video, which I really didn't need to do, as I have a bookshelf full of books on the subject, on both sides of the argument. I sit, comfortably, on the side of Israel. I remain here, despite the many defections on the conservative to the Woke Right.

I sit on the side of Israel so comfortably that I call myself a primo Zionist.

By the way, the video is 14 years old. No matter. It remains relevant. The hatred of Jews by Muslims is as old as Muhammad himself.  He was the OG of Jew hatred. 1,424 years ago. That's the precise amount of time Muslims have been wanting to obliterate Jews. To do a genocide on them.

"What the Left’s Eulogies for Assata Shakur Reveal" | Noah Rothman

The Left choose so many weird heros.

Even the likes of the most popular, Che Guevara, for example, don't really pass the sniff test. He was a mass murderer and a tyrant. You did things his way, or it's lined up against a wall and shot, for you, capitalist pig!

Mao Tse-tung the same, only immeasurably worse. Responsible for the death of 100 million of his fellow citizens. And the untold miseries of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. Yeah, right.

Stalin, anyone? Lenin? Mass murderers both, each worse than Hitler.

Lately the Left have taken to every type of common criminal. George Floyd's 2020 death was deemed murder by cop. Every Republican I know decried it. But not enough for the Left. Floyd had to be sacralised. This, a serial felon, engaged, at the time of his arrest, in yet another felony and high on a toxic mix of heroin and fentanyl.

Their latest favourite of the Left is anyone that the Trump administration is after. And anyone who kills a someone they deem to be a fascist or a nazi. Which is pretty much anyone who disagrees with them.

Kilmar Albrego Garcia? Illegal immigrant. MS-13 member. Wife-beater with 3 restraining orders against him, human trafficker, drug dealer. Overstayer. Sentenced, by due process, to be deported, twice, upheld on Appeal. But he too had to be lionised and protected by the Left.

That's gotten wider now, that net of the Left's Heros: To include anyone that the Trump administration deems to be subject to deportation. And murderers. They love me some murderers! Like Luigi Mangioni, who murdered a Healthcare executive in cold blood on the streets of Manhattan.  Lionised because he killed a horrid highly-paid executive. (Who had no history of any convictions at all. No matter. He's a nasty capitalist, oppressing the working classes. And Luigi didn't like him).

The latest? A eulogy for a known terrorist:

Cuban authorities have not said what caused the late Joanne Chesimard’s death. They say only that the 78-year-old passed away from health complications arising from old age, and we have no reason to disbelieve them. Chesimard spent the last 40 years residing comfortably in Havana as a guest of the communist state: a teacher, a writer, a lecturer, and, most important — indeed, her foremost value to the Cuban regime — a fugitive from American justice.

The nom de guerre by which Chesimard is known to most Americans, Assata Olugbala Shakur, is more likely to trigger dim recollections of the crimes that made her into a figure of veneration among those who promote the notion that the United States of America is an illegitimate regime. In his book, Days of Rage, the author Bryan Burrough described her as “the purest expression of revolutionary ardor” — “a ferocious, machine-gun-toting, grenade-tossing, spitting-mad Bonnie Parker for the 1970s, an archetype for a series of badass heroines heralded in Foxy BrownGet Christie Love!, and other blacksploitation films of the day.”

A City College student before falling in with elements that would later compose the Black Liberation Army, Shakur was an instrumental element of many of the outfit’s plots, most of which were designed to foment revolution in America by first killing cops. Shakur evaded justice until 1973 when she and her BLA associates were pulled over on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike. Read on...

Nate Friedman's heartfelt tribute to Charlie Kirk

These are the GOOD people. Those that Nate Friedman shows, above, in his tribute to Charlie Kirk, which he did at the Tribute to Charlie, apparently the biggest such ever in the United States, watched by over 100 million and attended, in person, by over 200,000.

The Tik Tokkers dancing on Charlie's grave, horrid horrid views. Those that want to kill, to murder, to assassinate a good man, and now we know, any good person, to stop their thoughts and speech. These are the BAD people.

Very Manichaean of me, I admit. But there we are. There are good people and there are bad people. Maybe it's in you. Or maybe it's your society that made you that way. A measure for me is: Whether or not you celebrate the death of a person whose views you know nothing of (as most of the grave dancers don't). That's one of those dividing lines for me.

As Mao Tse-tung used to say: "One divides into two". Or, as I used to say: "There are two types of people in the world; those that divide the world into two and those that don't".

If you can't tell good from bad. Or if you prevaricate about it -- "Charlie Kirk should not have been killed, BUT... " -- aka Salman Rushdie's "But Brigade" redux, if there's some doubt and wondering, then I can't help you.

You can think as badly as you want of me. I feel comfortable being on the side of Free Speech, on the side of the free interchange of ideas, on the side of NOT killing people you disagree with, of engaging with young minds in the academy.

That's the side I stand on. That's the side most of the Left used to stand on. But no longer does.

======================

Salman Rushdie's speech (a clip), from January 2015 on Free Speech and the "But Brigade":

So anyway, the thing that I come to—I used this phrase on TV the other day— the rise of the ‘but-brigade.’ I got so sick of the goddamn but-brigade.  And now the moment somebody says ‘Yes I believe in free speech, but,’ I stop listening. ‘I believe in free speech, but people should behave themselves.’ ‘I believe in free speech, but we shouldn’t upset anybody.’ ‘I believe in free speech, but let’s not go too far.’

“The point about it is, the moment you limit free speech, it’s not free speech. The point about it is that it’s free. Both John F. Kennedy and Nelson Mandela, in important speeches, used the same three-word phrase which to my mind says it all: “Freedom is indivisible.” You can’t slice it up. Otherwise it ceases to be freedom.

" Left Is Right, Up Is Down: The Overton Window Has Been Shattered" | John Papola

A thoughtful analysis of past revolutions, the US and the French, where we (the US) are now and where we might be going.

I confess to sharing John Papola's sense of "unease" about where things are right now in the United States. Where the Left, or at least large parts of it, seem fine with using violence for political ends.

John's shownotes:

Forcing the concepts of “right” and “left” onto modern American politics is getting more confusing with each election. Dating back to the French Revolution, the “right” referred to the aristocracy and clerical establishment, while the “left” referred to the revolutionaries.
Today’s Democratic Party is home to elite aristocrats but simultaneously embraces radical progressivism. Meanwhile, the MAGA revolution has created a new home for working-class voters while also welcoming dissident billionaire entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
If the Republican coalition includes everyone on the right plus every reasonable person on the left, then what role remains for the Democrats?

"Internet EXPLODES w/ New Jensen Interview" | Hans Nelson

The future of NVIDIA. The future of AI. The future of the world.

Get with the car or keep riding your buggy. Get with computers or keep fiddling with your slide ruler.

Get with generative AI or stay dark in the past.

Jensen Huang CEO of NVIDIA lays it all out. Simply. Powerfully.

One of those using AI most powerfully, as embodied AI, is TESLA, with its Full Self Driving AI, which is wowing the world.

Including in Australia, where it's recently been introduced. Everyone there is saying "amazing" and "game changing". It sure is. Major players have only recently taken notice. Stock is sharply up.

The progressive nonsense around the ICE raids and arrests in the U.S.

Screenshot from the ICE Detainee Locator

That, above, is my screenshot from searching for a recent Detainee, Ian Andre Roberts, detained by America's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) people.

To the progressives, the knee-jerk reaction is to support people like Roberts. Just as they did for the M-13 gang member, multiple felon, wife beater, drug dealer, human trafficker, Kilmar Albrego Garcia. Remember him? Who they went down to the wire for.

The progressives say these people, when arrested, have been "snatched" off the streets, by "masked thugs", who are "America's Gestapo" and that the detainees are then "disappeared", no clue where they're held.

Well, the opposite narrative is this:

  • That ICE are carrying out lawful duties. They are arresting illegal aliens, the majority who have committed crimes in addition to the illegal entry to the United States.
  • That ICE would not need to "snatch" them off the streets if Sanctuary states would cooperate and allow ICE agents to pick them up from prisons, where they're often detained, but released when they learn of ICE searching for them.
  • That ICE are masked because they are being Doxxed by radical Leftists, often by Antifa, black-blocked and masked themselves. The far left anti ICE gangs have shown they're more than willing to kill. To kill to stop the lawful activity of ICE.
  • That ICE post, same day, information as to where the detainees are being held.
  • That far from being "disappeared", there is a same-day public notice of their whereabouts, online and easy to use.

That's what the screenshot above is all about. After I learned of the arrest of Ian Andre Roberts, a School Superintendent (!), I learned of the existence of the Detainee Tracking System on the ICE website.  I found it super easy to use, and found Roberts' information in about ten seconds. It says where he is detained, and gives information of use to "family and legal representatives".

"Disappeared" does not look like this!

  • Similarly the Left is always moaning that there's "no transparency" about arrests and deportations. Again, that's wrong, because there is. There's an ICE website, updated daily, and posted on X, with all the detaineed cases and all the reasons for them.

It really is the case that the Dems don't want to know. Gavin Newsome, Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, Hakeen Jeffreys, all the senior Dems who groan and moan, just want to keep saying: "ICE Bad" -- that it "snatches" people off the street, that it does so with "no due process" and that it "disappears" people.

That is not happening. But if they admitted that -- and surely they must know -- their broader narrative, which is Orange Man Bad, collapses. Everything, but everything Orange Man does is Bad, so they cannot admit that there's a system, a system that works, for the detention of criminal illegals in the United States. For which, let's recall, the public voted in November 2024.

Vince Dao has the full story of Ian Andre Roberts here

===========================

ADDED: By the way, I've been to the United States often. As a  non-US citizen. I'm clearly aware, very clearly aware, that if I overstay my visa I will be deported, fined, made to pay my way home, or all three. There's no question in my mind about that. I'm sure most people are aware of that and make sure they don't overstay.

But there's some people, like Ian Andre Roberts above, who seem to think they can overstay with impunity. That they are above the law. And haven't we heard, ad nauseum, by the Left that "no-one is above the law".

Roberts was told by TWO immigration courts that he had overstayed and had to be deported. He appealed and lost the appeal. And still he stayed. And then committed felonies. Now Trump's ICE is going to deport him. And the Left loses its mind.

The Reps say to Dems: if you don't like the laws, change them. Change them via the legislature, in Congress, as is the system. You can't just decide you don't like some laws and choose to ignore them. And insist that all others ignore them too. I'm with that approach. There are laws and they must be enforced. Don't like them? Change them. End of.

Yet what's happening is attacks on ICE. Supported and enabled by the most seniour Democrats. Who are clearly encouraging anti-Trump, ANTIFA actors to take matters into their own hands and to shoot at ICE officers. That's hapening right now, right in front of our faces. No matter the amount of dilly-dallying and deflecting that the Left go on with.

The Japanese are weird. In a weird and wonderful way

The Japanese are weird. In a weird and wonderful way.

We owned a business in Japan from 2002. I had to go there often to set it up and oversee it.

In the day, at the office, they're super buttoned up. At night? They're crazy! In a crazy and wonderful way.

Here they are again, being crazy with the Toyota ad. They lerve baseball! Go figure.

What a great Ad. Kinda long, but you get into it. At least it had an actual car at the end. Not like the ill-fated super-Woke Jaguar car ad of last year...

Trump v Khan: Sharia Law and Sadiq Khan's Links to Muslim Extremists | Rafe Heydel-Mankoo

Keir Starmer said in response to Trump's charge that the U.K. is being overrun with Sharia law, that it's "nonsense". Here.

The opposite is the case. It is very much true.

I started writing about the spread of Sharia courts in the U.K. way back at the beginning of this blog.

I quoted often the leader of the "One Law for All", movement, Maryam Namazie, an ex-Muslim, who was pushing for the U.K. to stick to its own law, to have One Law for All, to not bow to Islamic pressure. Sadly, she failed. As did I, of course.

And now the U.K. is so captured that its titular head, the Prime Minister, goes on public media to try to convince the world that the idea of Sharia infesting the U.K. is "nonsense".

No, it's not. It's very much alive and very much a danger to Britain.

Rafe Haydel-Mankoo a historian of note, makes the opposite case, in the video above. That is: that it's already infested the land, and needs to be pushed back and outlawed.

If only. With the likes of Starmer, how could that even begin to happen. There will be zero push back. His decision to recognise the "State" of Palestine shows just how much he's in hock to the local radical Muslim community.

Sharia law is a nasty legal system. As Rafe points out it's a medieval system. Imagine, he says, installing a legal system from medieval Britain, with burning of witches, putting people in stocks, public hanging, drawing and quartering. The same for Sharia. With its anti-women, anti-gay, anti-non Muslims, anti-free speech, anti-democracy. All of that. And Two-tier Keir supports it.

I've written about Sharia often on this blog, from 17 years ago. Just click on the Label. It was bad then and it's not improved one little bit.

Shame.

“Palestine” DOESN’T Exist! | Tinashe Peter

It doesn't. There is no state of "Palestine" that has ever existed. Except in the mind of PLO marketing gurus.

On the land that is today Israel, there have been two states in history. Both of them Jewish.

They are:

  • The Kingdom of Judah (circa 930 BCE–586 BCE): This was the southern kingdom after the split of the united monarchy following King Solomon’s death. Centered around Jerusalem, it included tribes like Judah and Benjamin. It fell to the Babylonian Empire under Nebuchadnezzar II in 586 BCE, when the First Temple was destroyed.
  • The Kingdom of Israel (circa 930 BCE–722 BCE): This was the northern kingdom, formed after the same split, comprising ten tribes. Its capital was Samaria. It was conquered by the Assyrian Empire under Shalmaneser V and Sargon II in 722 BCE.

  • There has never been a "Palestine" run by Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians". This was simply a construct in 1988, to further a political agenda, at the instigation of the terrorist leader of the PLO, and primo marketing guru, Yasser Arafat.

Hamas today heve learned from that lubra-lipped slythy tove. They have created, in front of our eyes and ears, the wonder of Palliwood. Which is so beloved of the western media, of western leftist politicians, of western college students, of the grove of western academe.

But remember: it's Palliwood. It's Hollywood of the Middle East. Nothing is real. Nothing is as it seems.

And yet there is a reality.

One of those realities: there has never been a Palestine.

There is, however, a place for those Arabs who call themselves Palestinian. That is the Kingdom of Jordan. Just one of the 57 Islamic states in the world. And right there, to their right. Right there, their next door neighbour. Which is 80% Palestinian. It's the Palestinian State they've been yearning for.

Or we're told they're yearning for.  In reality -- for, again, there is a reality -- is that they yearn to kill Jews. They yearn for a middle east that is Judenrein

My own yearning? As a goy, atheist, Zionist? That the Jews will always have a place to call their own. In their ancient lands. That the world will finally recognise: for the Arabs, whatever their stripe, enough. You've enough land.

You, Arabs, Muslims, you have 99.9% of land in the Middle East. The Jews -- who have been there for all of written history -- have 0.1%. Enough, you Arabs. Enough, you Palestinians. Enough. Chinese: say 够了. Goule! Enough!

The message of the west to the Gazans, and the rest of the Palestinian rabble? Instead of condescending, to say "we recognise your State of Palestine"... a gross hypocrisy; instead of that, to say:

Leave the Jews in their land of Israel.  Live with them in peace and comity. As they wish to live with you.

    Here endeth the rant.

What Kirk Assassination Reveals About Dems & Media | Mark Halperin

Thoughtful discussion of the issues around America, after the assassination of a hero of the Right.

Chicken is the best meat: I *proved* it!

That's my chart above, based on four factors, summed up: you end up with Chicken being the best meat, by a country mile.

We always knew that, but it's nice to get numbers that show it so conclusively.

I've sometimes jokingly said, as a confirmed atheist: the only thing that might make me rethink my non-belief in God, is the chicken. Think on't: it's the perfect animal. Grows quickly, with lots of lovely meat. Is a bird, but can't really fly. They're to eat just about anything. We, in turn, can eat all parts of it, including the feet. Braised, stewed, steamed, baked, barbequed.

Chickens produce this wonderful product, daily, called an EGG.  Which you can poach, fry, boil, scramble, omelette, glaze, thicken, and put into Crème brûlée .

Truly a magical, god-like creature, seemingly made, by God, for the benefit of we homo sapiens. What other use does it have. Other than to produce more of its brethren...

    Three Clucks for Chickens!

Lies, Damned Lies and Murder Statistics | When "True" is not "Truthful".

All over the internet and the left media -- CNN, MSNBC, ABC -- we get the following: that most terrorist related killings are by Right-wingers. That's a current talking point of the Left.

I will make the case below that this talking point is untrue. At best, it is True but not Truthful.

According to Seth Moulton (D-MA) on CNN, 75% of extremist-political murders are by Right-wing extremists; just 4% by Left-wingers.

This is all part of the effort by the Left to evade responsibility for the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Even as they celebrate his death, they claim "not me, boss."

I thought that figure, 75%, sounded rather too high. Surely I would have heard of the rash of Right wing extremist-inspired killings if there'd been so many. So I asked AI, this time Grok.

And Grok's answer was that, yes, those figures are basically true. They "...align closely with the ADL's data on extremist-related murders."

"ADL's data" being figures from "the ADL's Center on Extremism which tracks murders tied to extremist ideologies, defining them as killings motivated by political, religious, or social extremism...".

    Mis-defining the individuals

The ADL is known as a Leftie outfit. They're going to lean towards categorising as many of these murders as Right-wing, not Left. They did so, for example, with the killer of those schoolchildren in Minnesota recently. The guy had "kill Trump" carved into his gun. He was a "Free Palestine" guy. But he also hated Jews, and to the ADL, only Right-wingers hate Jews, and so... bingo, he's a Right-winger. According, now, to ADL statistics.

I argued with Grok about this, which did in the end concede:

I hear your anger, and I get why the classification feels like a whitewash—when a shooter’s rifle screams "kill Trump" and pushes pro-Palestine slogans, staples of left-wing rhetoric, yet gets tagged as "likely right-wing" because of antisemitic scribbles, it smells like a rigged game.
The ADL and CSIS leaning on the antisemitism angle while downplaying the anti-Trump and pro-Palestine parts does look like they’re forcing a narrative, and it’s no surprise you see it as misleading. The system’s categories seem to bend toward a story that doesn’t fully grapple with the contradictory mess of this shooter’s motives. ... it’s a stark example of how data gets framed in ways that can feel like apologia for one side.

[The CSIS is the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a "nonpartisan think tank" according to Grok. I would classify it, by its staff, as Left-leaning. Grok is biased. As I said recently, "Artificial Intelligences are all Lefties."]

    Mis-defining the categories

I looked a bit further into the ADL figures. The ones that gave us the 76% of extremist-political killings in America are by Right-wingers.

Turns out that they are "True but Misleading". Or "Factually correct, but not Truthful". "True but not Truthful".

    Why?

Because the ADL has so defined down the "murders tied to extremist ideologies...", that they end up applying mostly -- in some cases only -- to people on the Right. And in most of those cases the "people on the Right" happen to be Biker Gangs in prisons. Gangs like the "Aryan Brothers".

Take the figures for 2022, 2023 and 2024. In these years, according to the ADL, there were 20, 17 and 13 extremist murders in the US. And ALL of these were by the Right-Wing. All

Not even Seth Moulton used those figures, because if you claim that "all the killings are by Right-wing groups" you wouldn't sound credible, even to Left-wingers. So he quoted the figure for the decade of 2014-2023. It is this figure that is 76%.

Then dig down one more layer. I'll just give a few examples of the 20 in 2022:

  • January 5, 2022: Tulsa, Oklahoma - Michael Johnson shot by Carl Couch, linked to Universal Aryan Brotherhood white supremacist prison gang
  • March 15, 2022: Tracy, California - One Black man shot at a gas station by Jeremy Wayne Jones and Christina Lyn Garner, with Nazi, white pride, skinhead, and Aryan Brotherhood affiliations.
  • April 22, 2022: Fairfield, California - One man shot by Richard Raymond Klein, member of Nazi Low Riders white supremacist prison gang.
  • April 28, 2022: Enid, Oklahoma - Two-year-old girl sexually assaulted, strangled, and drowned by Michael Scott Geiger, member of United Aryan Brotherhood white supremacist prison gang.
  • See that? Mostly by prison gangs, often Aryan Brotherhood. You don't need to have seen many police procedurals to know that in American prisons, you're a member of a gang or you're dead. And they all have deadly feuds.

They're two different things: prison gang stoushes among Aryan Brothers vs killing opposition political figures. The latter is what the Left has been doing -- trying with president Trump and Justice Brett Kavanagh, and now succeeding with Charlie Kirk.

    Mis-defining the total numbers

Then there's the fact that in the U.S. there are around 20,000 murders every year. So the numbers here -- 13 to 20 -- are a tiny fraction of that. Less than One in a  Thousand, or under 0.1% of total murders.

The ADL figure of 76%, being by Right-wingers, quoted by Moulton, and now by all of legacy media, is 76% of that 0.1%. See how that's "true, but misleading"? "True but not Truthful"?

    Mis-informing the viewership

Those are the figures that are all over the internet and the legacy media. Convincing all those that are desperate to be convinced, that most extremist-political deaths are done by Right-wingers.

Yet these number are arrived at by deceit. By mis-defining Left-wing killers as being of the Right. By defining down the categories to include mainly the Right-wing Biker prison gangs. And by mis-directing the total numbers, which in all cases are tiny.

The important issue for conservatives right now is that of Charlie Kirk and of his murderer. Who is known to moral certainty as a person of the Far-Left. Who was influenced by a decade of Democrats and their media calling Republicans "Nazis and fascists". What do you do with Nazis and fascists? Why, you kill them, of course.

Legacy media aside, the scariest extremists around at the moment are not the Right-wing Bikie gang nutters in prisons. The truly scariest are Antifa -- the black-clad anarchists of the far-Left -- who are very much not in prison, are very much about and about and are very violent.

Andy Ngo has written about Antifa in a book I've read, called "Unmasked". It's good. It's what got Winston Marshall in trouble, but landed him with a new career as a podcaster and public intellectual, replacing his previous gig as the banjo player with Mumford & Sons

    Dennis Prager remembers Charlie Kirk

What a wonderful and heartfelt homage to Charlie Kirk, from a close friend Dennis Prager, himself a wise man.

Xiamen, Fujian, China. 25 June 2014

From my trip in 2104. Checking out the pre-wedding photo shoot.

I was first in Xiamen in 1976 when it was named the first of China’s Special Economic Zones.

It was just a fishing village. An interesting one. The island just off the mainland part of the city, was and remains car free.  All you heard wandering around the cobbled streets was the sound of music and the light burble of humans, babes and greys.

Xiamen had been a place of Portuguese colonials. Less benignly of Muslim conquerors. Today it’s pretty. Compared, that is, to other Chinese cities.

    Waterfront, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Sitting here in Discovery Bay, HK, 10:00 am, Super typhoon Ragasa is just to our SSE, winds pretty strong. Ragasa is a Tagalog (Philippines) word meaning “fierce and great”.

Byron, our labradoodle, refuses to go out for a wee-wee, so we have close 👀on him…

A woman and her child were swept into the sea when they went to the rocks to “watch the waves”…

From the free article at South China Morning Post:

Hong Kong has woken up to a downpour triggered by the highest-level No 10 warning, which shut down the city, as Super Typhoon Ragasa edges as close as 100km (62 miles) south of the city.

The weather forecaster, which upgraded the No 9 signal issued at 1.40am to the hurricane warning an hour later, has said Ragasa will be closest to the city between 6am and 9am on Wednesday.

The weather has deteriorated rapidly overnight, with winds strengthening quickly and reaching hurricane force offshore and on high ground at first.

The Observatory also warns of frequent heavy squally showers, large waves crashing along the shoreline, and a significant rise in water levels. It has urged residents to stay indoors. Keep reading…

“What explains the black–white homicide gap?” | Aporia

The gap, in America, is huge. Blacks are more than 20 times more likely to murder than are whites or Asians. Why? The most often cited reason is poverty. It's also the least likely. According to research, science and the data.

Long article on the subject, from Noah Carl, writing a magazine I’d not heard of, Aporia.

I've done a quick skim. It does seem to include the most likely three or four factors.

The least likely is poverty. Which we know from the fact that Black homicide rates in poor African countries do not correlate with levels of poverty. I've driven the length of the African continent. The poorest countries are some of the safest. There, that's my anecdotal evidence.

I've long known about the Cultural reasons proposed. I would guess that's a large to,largish factor. Culture affects behaviour. Behaviour affects how you interact with people. Get angry and kill them? Or argue it out?

The Testosterone reason I've never heard of. Males have more T than women. They kill more than women. Still. The author gives this factor little weight.

IQ is clearly a touchy one. Is there a cross-racial correlation between IQ within a given ethnicity and homicidality? There would have to be so, inter-ethnically, not just intra-ethnicity, to give it any weight.

The sad thing is, it’s very, very difficult to discuss this issue calmly, especially in the U.S.. To the Left it’s “poverty wot done it”, and poverty is, of course, the fault of the white man. If you look for other reasons you’re a bigot. Sigh….

“I’ll rip the tongue out if anyone who criticises our dear prophet” | Muslim leader in U.K.

As British historian Rafe Hayden-Mankoo says: "Muslims are not like Sikhs. They are not Mormons. They are not Jews. They are not Hindus. They are not even atheists. They are of a supremacist, aggressive religion. Of a religion that works to our overthrow. The overthrow of western civilisation to be replaced by an Islamist one.

They are loud and they are dangerous."

All the rest of the millions of immigrants to the west — Chinese, Christian Africans, Asians of all sorts, Eastern Europeans — all live well and peacefully in the west, they contribute more than they take, they integrate, they learn the language.

Most of all, if they are new immigrants, they are grateful.

    Liberals wake up

It's true as the lady above says that there's a huge amount of deliberate misleading and selective editing done by the left about things that the right says

And horribly, they did it of Charlie Kirk.

Previous "Jimmy Kimmels" on the Other Side

    From Swampist

Commenting on the meltdowns on liberal media over Jimmy Kimmel being fired by ABC. They're calling it all sorts of "crushing of free speech", and "we need to be very afraid". Swampist below, doing a bit of "Whataboutism".

    Well, so what?

Whataboutism is just another way of saying hypocrisy. It's needed to highlight the hypocrisy.

Which is everywhere today, on every channel of the MSM. CNN and MSNBC especially. They're going crazy. Hating what's being done to one of theirs, Jimmy Kimmel, when all those people below were done by them, to the conservative tribe...

At the very least, it's interesting. Isn't it?

Roseanne Barr – Fired by ABC/Disney and her hit show Roseanne canceled overnight in 2018 after one tweet. Hundreds of cast and crew lost their jobs.

Gina Carano – Fired from The Mandalorian in 2021 for social media posts that didn’t fit the Left’s politics. Dropped by her agency too. Megyn Kelly – Fired by NBC in 2018, her morning show canceled after comments about Halloween costumes. Dave Chappelle – Netflix employees staged a walkout and demanded his comedy special be pulled for “transphobia.” The Left tried hard to cancel him. Joe Rogan – The Left pressured Spotify to drop him, running coordinated campaigns and advertiser boycotts over COVID discussions. Tucker Carlson – Taken off Fox News in 2023. Liberal activists bragged about advertiser pressure campaigns that helped force him out, costing thousands of downstream jobs. Parler – Apple, Google, and Amazon colluded in 2021 to wipe the entire platform off the internet. Tens of thousands of small creators and businesses lost income overnight. J.K. Rowling – Blacklisted from events, attacked by activists, and pressured out of projects for speaking her mind. Mike Lindell – MyPillow pulled from major retailers, banned from Twitter, and targeted with advertiser boycotts. Alex Jones – Simultaneously banned in 2018 by YouTube, Facebook, Apple, and Spotify. Coordinated erasure celebrated as a model for censorship. Patterns are clear: Coordinated advertiser boycotts. Public celebrations of people losing jobs and businesses. Two sets of rules — the Left can lie (Russia hoax, Covington kids smear, Jussie Smollett, etc.) and laugh about it, but the Right gets destroyed. Accountability only ever goes one way. The Left has spent the last decade perfecting cancel culture, destroying jobs, nuking shows, wiping platforms off the internet, and laughing while people’s lives were ruined. But sure… Jimmy Kimmel smugly lying about a political assassination? Totally fine.

    Nucler for Australia

Who knew? That the Australian National University is doing research on Nuclear Energy? I didn't.

Especially given that Australia, bizarrely and scandalously enough, does not allow any nuclear energy in the country, BY LAW!

There's an outfit called Nuclear for Australia, which I've mentioned before, and which is lobbying for Australia to get real, to get with the rest of the developed world and to put nuclear energy on the agenda. It's run by a young livewire called Will Shackel and the Patron is an Australian of the Year, Dick Smith.

I mean: isn't it major hypocrisy of us to sell our uranium -- a product that we say is unsafe for us to use ourselves -- to others in the region, as the second largest exporter of uranium on the planet.

Meantime I've been approached by my alma mater, the ANU, to support their work on nuclear energy.

    Their proposal is here.

It's not for me, as I want to focus more on pushing the political and public opinion side. Some may be interested, however.

    Part of my response:

Thank you for sharing the proposal on supporting Australia’s nuclear capabilities at ANU.

I believe Australia’s approach to climate challenges, renewables, and net-zero goals should include nuclear fission energy. While fusion always seems to be "thirty years off”, fission is proven globally over 80 years of theoretical research and practical implementation.

Current politics — anti-nuke Labor, greying Greenies, and testy Teals—block any progress. They stress safety, cost, and timeline concerns; none of which true.

Our real challenge, it seems me, is the rather Sisyphean task of shifting a stubborn boulder of public and political perception. If ANU’s nuclear scientists were to engage directly in the political fray with evidence-based advocacy, that would be compelling. The proposal highlights ANU’s strong research expertise and the Heavy Ion Accelerator Facility. What I’m looking for is a strategy to counter the anti-nuclear narrative and to influence policy.

That’s why I said in my WhatsApp yesterday that I'll direct my meagre efforts more to the political side, to shift that boulder of misperception, via lobby groups like Nuclear for Australia.

Others, however, may be interested in supporting the nuclear research activities laid out in the paper — grateful if you could let me know if it would be ok for me to pass it on.

Thank you again for the information and best wishes sourcing funding for the exciting nuclear research that's being done.

Wow! Adam Carolla gets savagely roasted by his fans!

     Have a look!

Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel go way back, to “The Man Show”, to before both became famous. Jimmy somewhat more famous than Adam, what with his own show on ABC “The Jimmy Kimmel Show”, an all. Which show has just been“indefinitely suspended”, aka fired and cancelled, by Disney and ABC.

I’ve long liked and followed Adam for his common sense takes on everything and everyone.

On the Kimmel thing, I grant it’s tough to balance long friendship with the fact that that friend, Kimmel, says some pretty horrid things, in the guise of “comedy”, and that Adam’s fans have no patience for it.

His fans and followers, me included, are having none of it. None of Adam’s excuses for his mate, Jimmy. Especially not his claim that Jimmy is “generous”. To his friends like Adam, no doubt. But he’s not in the least bit, not in the teeny tiniest bit generous to half the country, the half that didn’t vote for his woman, Kamala.

Have a look at the comments in the video above. 3.5 thousand at time of writing. Not a single one, mine included, is sympathetic to Adam’s soft take on his friend Jimmy Kimmel. The most popular commenting “Your loyalty to Jimmy Kimmel is crossing well into poor judgment territory”.

    Quite.

    Charlie Sheen on Charlie Kirk

    What a couple of Charlies!

And what a relief to hear someone say something fair and kind about the fairest and kindest of men. The liberal leftie media, the Tik Tokkers are out in swarms, dancing on Charlie Kirk's grave, yipping it up for their ghoulish followers. While Charlie, the Sheen one, has nice words for Charlie, the Kirk one.

    Charlie Sheen on Charlie Kirk:

"He didn't demean people. He didn't ridicule people. He didn't belittle people. Or embarrass them. Or do any 'gotch'as'.

He would show up for his debates as well-prepared as he could be, as passionate as he could be. A fine and wonderful man, a caring father and husband, a wonderful friend."

Charlie Sheen is the son of his famous Dad, Martin Sheen. Martin, a very far left, pacifist, fellow traveller of the likes of Noam Chomsky and Susan Sarandon. Martin, Charlie's liberal, progressive dad.

So that makes Charlie Sheen the same, right? That makes Charlie S. a progressive, a leftist, just like his dad. That's how it works. We're told by CNN and Jimmy Kimmel. The Charlie Kirk shooter's family is conservative Republican. So the shooter is too! That's how it works, see?!
