I knew about this gaming of the crime stats ages ago, but it's now coming to public knowledge. The cheek of the media to claim "crime has decreased" when it's only done so because the police, the cops, the defenders of law and order, them, they fiddled the books.
If I knew about this years ago, sitting here in Hong Kong, the media in America should also have known. They presumably do, but go along with the subterfuge, the cheating, because it supports their narrative -- which is "No crime here boss, no need help from the Orange Man Bad".
Nate the Lawyer does a good job in the video above of describing what's going on in Washington DC. Where recent actions by the Trump administration, deploying National Guard troops, to work together with the D C police, have had a remarkable effect. One of the crimes DC residents hate the most -- Carjacking -- has falled 87%. It's been so effective that the Democrat Mayor of the city has asked Trump if they can continue.
Meantime other crime ridden cities like LA and Chicago are refusing any help at all. Because they're Democrat and they don't want anything to do with Orange Man Bad. Even as the Vox Pop on their streets reveals that the average folks really, really, want to have the help of the Feds, in the shape of the National Guard.
But ideologues like Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, just will not accept reality. Nate again.
