I'm watching fake news being manufactured right before my eyes.
If you google "Hong Kong police shoot demonstrator", you get a series of videos that show a policeman standing up waving his gun around. Then you see the guy shot, on the ground. And I thought, as I was clearly meant to think, that the cop had simply shot the guy.
But it's not like that at all, as the full video shows. A gang attacked a cop with metal bars, drive him to the ground and proceeded to beat the crap out of him. That was when the gun went off. The cop waving the gun is doing it after the shooting and to keep more of the rioters away.
Still, it wouldn't have happened if the cops didn't carry guns. I’m in favour of gun-free cops. (Jing is not)
