There are many extreme Greens, including even the like of Sir David Attenborough, who think that humans are a virus on the earth and that the earth would be better off without us.
For the record: I disagree.
Humans, homo sapiens, are the most intelligent life form in the universe... that we know of. We are the only beings in the universe ... that we know of ... who have understood something of how the universe itself works. Perhaps we are the conscience of the universe, the sentience of our galaxy, the soul of our sol. Why should we wish for the extinction of the most intelligent life in the universe? Why? Makes no sense.
