Matt Ridley is an award-winning science journalist and wrote a book, Viral, with Alina Chan, about the search for the origin of Covid. I’ve read it. in the book they lay out the evidence for the lab leak theory and the zoonotic origin theory. Doesn’t take a strong stance, but leans to lab leak. Which looks ever more likely. There is the smoking gun. Just not the admission by the shooter. (In this case China).
I would say that those still pushing a zoonotic origin theory are clinging to a fast-sinking bit of flotsam.
