At least it’s clear. Beijing is upset by Oz buying American nuclear submarines and signing on to a stronger relationship with old allies. Yet AUKUS is a done deal. It sets the strategic priorities for the US, for the UK, for Australia, and, by omission, for Europe, especially France — for decades to come.
