My comment in "moderation queue":
Article Fails to mention: the biggest obstacle to Two-State Solution (TSS) is that Hamas specifically rejects it. (Not only that: specifically calls for murder of all Jews, in its Charter).
Hamas wants "Free Palestine, from the River to the Sea" -- which is to say: all of Israel. Fatah, the PLA, these days are the same. They don't want Two states. They want one Muslim state.
Israel, the U.S. and the UN have offered TSS at least 8 times since Peel Commission of 1937, always rejected by the Arab side. So why do we keep pressing TSS as if both sides are against it. Only one side is, and the pressure must be on that side -- Hamas, Fatah, etc -- to change.
Otherwise all this talk of TSS is just whistling in the wind .

I could have added: Xi Jinping's call for a TSS with "right of return" of "refugees" is a Red Line for Israel. It has made clear time and again that there can't be a right of return for all Palestinians to Israel because their number, contrary to claims of genocide, have increased tenfold since 1948 and the only refugee group in the world with hereditary rights under an "only-for-Palestinians" UNWRA.
Israel cannot accept 5 million "refugees" right of return and they have made that argument clearly, cogently and often.
It's silly and duplicitous of China to keep raising it.
Also note that at the same time as demanding "right of return" for Arabs to Israel, this article says that "of course" in any TSS Jews would have to leave the West Bank. Biblical Judea and Samaria. Where they are less than 10% of the population. But where it seems to be casually accepted by China and other TSS fellow-travellers that cleansing a Muslim place of Jews is completely normal and to be expected. To make a new Palestine state Judenrein, as was the Sudetenland and Germany, in WW2. The lack of self-awareness! Or casual acceptance of anti-semitism, of Jew hatred.
