Some dear folk ask: “How are you doing in Hong Kong?”
My answer in two words: “Fine”. And also: “Bored”. Which self-conflict. Which makes us “on edge”, to borrow from the headline above. And that’s us here in the burbs, in a comfy home, backyard, backing a park, comfy. Most aren’t so cozy, and are really suffering. Retail and F&B are losing $10 billion a month.
Consider: a once fun, vibrant place, and you could be anywhere in the world under a day.. Now neither fun nor easy to leave, harder still to get back to. We used to eat out, sail, club and trips o/s. Now none of that. And no end in sight. While the rest of the world has decided to get on with living with the virus.
