A wonderful rant...

Black vote is breaking Trump

Click above for the video
The Black vote used to be a lock for Democrats. They always counted on around 90% voting Blue. No longer. The Black vote for Trump is now around 30%. Unprecedented.

The reason being that Black Americans have woken to the fact that the Dems have played them. Told them they’re victims that can’t ever make it because of white supremacists. Yet they find they can make it, and can do so without handouts from Dems. Jason Riley even wrote a book about the Dem welfare state: “Liberals: please stop helping us”.

Stephen A. Smith is a long-term Dem. He is on the very leftie ESPN. Super Dem. Hated/hates Trump. Now he sounds off on the Dems. For their hypocrisy. For trying to get rid of Trump before allowing the people to have their say.

He’s part of a growing group of Black podcasters going Trump. The likes of Amala Ekpunobi, Coleman Hughes, Barry Cunningham, Greg Foreman, Glenn Loury, “A Righteous Perspective (above), Doc Rich, Nate the Lawyer. Even Charlemagne The God, a super leftie podcaster, has hit out at Biden and DEI.

When the Black vote skews this much Republican, the Dems have had it.

Except that they will continue to play super hard ball. They will play every dirty trick in the book to keep Trump off the ballot. We’re seeing that in the current case in New York City, brought by the corrupted Alvin Bragg and his corrupt judge. Of course not the way this is seen on the Left, but is the case for anyone with eyes open to see.

This shift in the Black vote in America is super significant.

ADDED: a few days later, Stephen A. Smith, recanted, on what some have described as “a hostage video”. His comrades and friends have really piled on to get him to apologise, for what were clearly heart-felt views. At least for five minutes, they were....

This guy rather lets his passion overtake his need to be concise. But the points are made.

Iran is the octopus and we need to strike at the head of the octopus. It is the Islamic Republic of Iran, a theocracy, not popular with the Iranian people, but firmly in power and determined to do one thing: bring Islam to the world. Their version of Islam.

Leaders in the west don’t understand the theocracy nor their aims. Therefore they don’t act to call it out. To name its Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation. As it is. And as it should be extirpated.

Biden to Iran: “Don’t”. (But if you do... no biggie)

Biden to Iran, planning an attack on Israel: “Don’t”.

Iran: attacks Israel with 400+ missiles and drones. Aimed at the civilian population.

Biden: Right. I warned you. Now you face massive retaliation.

Biden to Israel, considering its retaliation: “Don’t".

Israel: Counter attacks Iran.

“Security law has not silenced criticism of government” | Bernard Chan

It’s true.

As long as you don’t call for Hong Kong independence, you’re fine. That call was a redline since 1997, very clearly so.

In Spain, as a bit of Whataboutism, you’re jailed if you demand Basque or Catalonia independence. And has happened.

Inside the disinformation industry - UnHerd

The nonsense info from the self-styled Global Disinformation Report

Disinformation about disinformation:

At its heart, the disinformation panic is becoming a textbook example of how a "solution" can do more harm than the problem it is designed to address. Educated campaigners such as Clare Melford may think they are doing the world a service, but in fact they are acting as intensifying agents, lending legitimacy to a conspiratorial world view in which governments and corporations are in cahoots to censor political expression. Unless something is done to stop them, they will continue to sow paranoia and distrust — and hasten us towards an increasingly radicalised and divided society.

Sound reflections from Freddy Sayers.

ADDED: Looking at the chart above, NPR is at the top of “Least dangerous”. When they have just had one of their senior staff, a whistleblower, tell us just how biased they are. They were non-stop on the Russia Collusion hoax, for three years, completely wrong, and not a whisper of apology. They refused to run the Hunter Biden laptop story, when it was true and highly newsworthy. Not to mention some of the others, like The New York Times, even, or the always-biased Huffpost. If you invert the chart, you’ll be better informed. Unless you like to be duped. And some people do.

“Stephen A. Smith issues a warning about the Donald Trump trial” | Barry Cunningham

Click above for the video
Barry Cunningham is a conservative, ex football commentator. Stephen A. Smith is a liberal Democrat, Never Trumper. Who gives his fellow liberals a serve for bringing Trump to court over a bit of trivia, and not fighting him on the field.

The Black vote is critical to the Democrats. It’s always been a Black Wall. No longer. It’s crumbling. From  near zero, the support for Trump from the Blacks community is around 30%. That gives Dems the heebie-jeebies.

Not to mention the upset of working class Blacks in sanctuary cities like Chicago and New York, being forced out of housing and civic centres, by immigrants. Not a good look. There’s plenty out there.

This is a newly happening thing: Black folks, on YouTube, attacking Democrats.

They know nothing

Click above for the video
Pro-Hamas luvvies demo with placards and slogans that they don’t know the meaning of.

Some might complain: “but this is cherry-picked”.  Well, yes, in the sense that everything is cherry picked, everything is an editorials choice. Thing is, at these pro-Hamas demos, there’s plenty of cherries.

Konstantin Kisin of Triggernometry has walked with the demos as well. And here. So have many others. And they find the same. No-one seems to know anything about what the placards mean that they’re marching with. Ask them what “From the River to the Sea” means, and they don’t know. And we know that that’s widespread ignorance, because you get a group of gaggling girls all looking at each other, cause they don’t know. They all don’t know.

The depth of ignorance among the zillions of protesters worldwide, in London, in New York, in Sydney, in Paris, is just staggering.

This U. S. travel advisory is NONSENSE

See comments from people living in these three cities, including me.

Pointing out the advisory is nonsense.

More U.S. psych warfare.

Trump NYC trial starts today. And words on Israel-Iran

Click above for the video
The discussion on the first case against Donald Trump to go to court, April 15, is very good.  Says one: “it’s the textbook definition of election interference”.

Re Israel -- Iran war, discussion with Glenn Greenwald, not so good, as GG is a down and down Israel hater. And is taken in by the Osama bin Laden “letter”, which blames 9/11 et.seq. on America’s involvement in the middle east. That’s one item, sure, but OBL says, in Raymond Ibrahim’s “The Al Qaeda Reader”, that the reason for attacking the United States is that they are non-believers. That they are “infidels”. IOW, the new-cons were right when they said “we were attacked because of our freedoms”. Our freedom to not believe in Islam. Our freedom to be infidels.

That’s why it’s so important to support Israel. Because they are indeed a beacon of western values and enlightenment. As Sam Harris has said, we are in a war with radical Islam, with Jihadism, even if we don’t know it yet.

Megyn Kelly gets that, and pushes back at GG. Greenwald doesn’t get it.

ADDED: GG gets all upset that Israel attacked and killed senior people in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, because they did it by attacking, he says, an Iranian Embassy in Syria. This is just not done, he says. Because of Diplomatic Immunity. Which he claims has been sacrosanct.

Two points:
1. Iran and Israel don’t recognise each other. That’s because when Iran became the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979, it immediately renounced recognition of Israel, claiming that it was all occupied land. Israel then de-recognised Iran. That means that there is no such thing as Diplomatic Immunity. By the way, I know this because I spent a dozen years or more in the Australian Foreign Service. It was one of the things we studied.
2. The targets were senior officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Including the architect of the October 7 attacks. That made it a legitimate target, no matter the issue of Diplomatic Immunity. In any case, it was not even the Embassy, but a building next door, defined as part of a consulate. Again, not diplomatic if it’s occupied with enemy generals.

The scandal of the Palestinian refugee U.N. body UNRWA

Click above for the video
A good report by Oren Cahanovitc.

I wrote about UNRWA years ago. There’s a long documented history of corruption and support of Hamas. But it’s widely ignored.

There are links in the video above to what the schools paid for by the United Nations, in Gaza and the West Bank, are teaching. But you can also go to MEMRI and find many more. They’re weird and scary because they simply demonise Jews and it’s all that young Arabs imbibe with their mother’s milk.

There’s no fixing UNRWA. It needs to be disbanded and replaced. But it won’t be, as long as Hamas exists.

“An open letter to the global community” | Hillel Fuld

A.K.A.: "how quickly they forget".

I was going to say how quickly we forget, but it's not "we". Many of us don't forget. Like me, and good ol' Sam Harris

The "they" are the media, the politicians, the governments, universities, even the Biden administration itself. They “staunchly support” Israel, then two minutes later, they’re sliding.

Progressives and Islamist join hands to suppress women’s rights.

The evils of cultural relativism.

Listen to this young Iranian woman

For the Record: Iran attacks Israel direct

Click above for the video
I watched a few hours of BBC coverage and thought it pretty fair.

Now the discussion is, should Israel retaliate or not? There are arguments both sides. I’m an armchair general, so I know nothing.... [But gut-feel is that there needs to be retaliation. The fact that you’re wearing a bullet-proof vest when someone shoots you, doesn’t mean there should not be consequences for the shooter. Similarly: Israeli success in defending itself is not an argument to let the Islamic Republic of Iran off the hook].

I’d say this: that Iran going ahead and attacking Israel in the first place is showing contempt for Joe Biden, who just yesterday said “don’t”. They know he’s weak and vacillating. They’re reacting to all the appeasement of Obama-Biden. This is the fruit of appeasement.

Sam Harris on Israel

Click above for the video
Welcome back, Sam, all is forgiven !

Sam Harris talks to Noem Dworman with clear and correct moral position on the war in Gaza.

Snippets:

“We love death more than infidels love life”. Say the jihadists. And they mean it.

This is the most scrutinised, the most carefully watched war in history. And it’s to Israel’s disadvantage, because there’s such a clear bias. Israel can do nothing right. No matter what they do to minimise civilian deaths.

Simply in the act of defending itself, Israel is viewed as having “committed a war crime”.

Israel is being held to a higher standard that any other country ever has been

Jihadist must be defeated. For the sake of the civilised world.

The ABC “Australia’s Most Trusted News Source”: full of misinformation about the killing of aid workers in Gaza.

This “Media Watch” is supposed to be the ABC’s top-notch fact-checking program.

Lookie here

The food convoy was hit by a precision Israeli drone attack on 1 April, killing 7, including one Australian.

Israel immediately apologised and said it would carry out an investigation. It did that by 6 April.

The report here, by the ABC was  out on the 9th. Yet nothing reported of what was learned in the report.

The ABC says it’s “inexcusable”. Yes, it was, and Israel did not excuse it. Not even for one minute.

The ABC says the food convoy was clearly marked on the roof. Yes it was. But this was nighttime and they had no night vision, only thermal imaging, which doesn’t reveal the signage.

The ABC fails to mention that the IDF were working together with the World Central Kitchen and had been for months.

They fail to mention that the IDF tried to contact the WCK staff, numerous times by phone, but failed to get through.

They fail to mention that there was a Hamas gunman on the roof of the WCK truck, firing into the air, to draw fire. That the convoy had gone into a warehouse for reasons unknown and come out, half an hour later, with that Hamas gunman on the roof.

None of this mentioned, but Australia’s “Most trusted news source”. Misinformation by Omission.

What is most revolving about this, not just the poor job here, showing how anti-Israel the ABC is, but the fact that the ABC is always lecturing us about how we have to be careful about Misinformation. Yeah, right, ABC, look in the mirror.

"Israel is Australia’s ally. You wouldn’t know it from listening to Albanese or Wong” | Christopher Dore

What hypocrisy to hammer Israel for the accidental death of an Aussie aid worker in Gaza. Israel has apologised and already done an investigation. There is no way in which this is being “excused” by them.

Not to mention: Australia, the US, Britain, every country that has been in a war has been involved in a “friendly fire” incident. Australia even in cases where it has failed to take responsibility. It’s the grossest hypocrisy to attack Israel over it, and demand that Israel accept an Australian investigator.

Penny Wong is a shocker.

Snip:

Penny Wong and her Prime Minister Anthony Albanese now talk about Israel, in language and tone, as if it is our enemy, not our ally.

Wong, our Foreign Affairs Minister, speaks with open hostility, directing scorn at Israel, an inclusive, modern, liberal, democratic state surrounded by apocalyptic religious regimes, under persistent siege from radical murderous Islamic terrorists.

Wong’s distaste for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is palpable, her hatred raw. In this regard, most of her Labor colleagues, and our Government, agree. It’s not about Israel, they will say privately, it’s Netanyahu, a monster, and his right-wing party, Likud. We are not anti-Semitic, we only hate some Jews. Mostly the ones who refuse to surrender to the demands of the righteous Palestinians, and their terrorist army of rapists and hostage-takers, Hamas.

With disdain and deliberate visceral disgust, Wong, from the comfort and safety of her office in the Adelaide CBD, spits out orders to Israel, in the grip of yet another lonely existential war they didn’t ask for: “We say to Mr Netanyahu, you must change course.” More...

There’s another Alabanese: Francesca Albanese, a long-time Israel-hater, employed by the U.N., natch, to write a report on Israel, which concluded, natch, that Israel has carried out “Genocide”. And then posted on X, without a shred of evidence, that the accidental killing of aid workers, was done deliberately by Israel. So many Israel haters. No matter what it does, it will never satisfy the likes of these Albaneses, or Wongs, or others in the Hamas-luvvie community. A depressingly large group.

“The End of Race Politics”| Coleman Hughes

Arrived yesterday, “The End of Race Politics”, the first book from the young philosopher, multi-talented Coleman Hughes, writer, blogger, musician, author. His instrument is the trombone,at which he’s national-level good.

He was on The View, with Whoopie Goldberg  last week and destroyed Sonny Hostin in a clip that went viral. It's here. (Note how Joy Behar doesn’t know who Robin DeAngelo or Ibram X Kendi are. Which is amazing to me, as they are two of the key “anti-racists”… race grifters some would say. Even I, here in Hong Kong, have known about them for years).

[UPDATE. 12 Aug, 2025): the vid clip above is not available any more, so watch the Joe Rogan one below, for the gist. Or a different clip, with Dave Rubin, here, with Nate the Lawyer, here, with Megyn Kelly here].

And then Coleman was on Joe Rogan clip here. Full pod here.  Jimmy Dore here.

I've also written about Coleman’s Ted Talk, on the end of race politics, which also went viral. Here. Also click the “Ted” label below.

I've followed Coleman for years. From as far back as 2018. He's really a talented young man. (Search “Coleman Hughes” in the search box at the right. I’ve posted more about him than even I remember. It’s kinda surprising to me that, sitting here in Hong Kong, I know about this clearly consequential young man long before current affairs analysts, the likes of Jimmy Dore, Joe Rogan, the ladies of a The View. Weird, right?).

I've started his book. He writes clearly, crisply, elegantly. And has clear views about how the race situation in America can be improved.

Coleman says: "Colourblind" does not mean "I don't see colour".

It means trying to treat everyone the same, irrespective of their colour.

It's a return to Martin Luther King Jnr's famous dictum: "don't judge people by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character".

Tik Tok China

One very good reason for America to be concerned about China ownership of Tik Tok: the fact that the United States have rules governing the overseas ownership of traditional media. The Press and the TV stations are regulated. Australia’s Rupert Murdoch had to become an American citizen to maintain control of his media in the US.

Why should social media be any different? Especially now that they are even more widespread and influential than the legacy media.

That aside, it’s clear that Tik Tok tik-toks to China's drumbeat. See above. All the subjects that are sensitive in China are suppressed on T-T.

The corollary is that China can also push things that it wants to. This issue of suppressing or pushing is way more significant than the most-often mentioned concern, about the security of data. It’s way more important that China can heat up or cool off subjects it wants to. China makes use of the US openness against the US.

A reasonable aim for post-war Gaza (but too late?..)

Click above for the video, starting at 16:30
I was about to post this days ago, when it would have still been relevant.

Then comes the news that Biden has had an angry talk with Netanyahu gives him a dressing down, and basically Israel is leaving Gaza.

That might make the legions of Hamas-luvvies around the world happy, but it means Israel losing the war and the HamaNazis winning the war. Things will get worse.

The three aims Israel had after October 7th, were: (1) to defeat Hamas (2) to bring the hostages back and (3) to ensure that there was never again the same threat to Israel.

All of those aims are now lost.

Bret Stephens who writes for the New York Times has a proposal he’s been banging on about for some time: after driving out Hamas from Gaza, to turn it over to a pan-Arab mandate over the territories. And to keep them there until a generation has been brought up under more moderate leadership.

Stephens  notes something rarely admitted by the Hamas-luvvies: that the the surrounding Sunni states all want Israel to destroy Hamas. That includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf States. They may not admit it publicly, but we know that’s what they want. Hamas is too radical, too terrorist-y for them. Why has not such an idea been floated and pushed by the United States?

Others commenting on this in the talk above are: Niall Ferguson, John Cochrane and General H.R. McMaster. They liked the idea; as do I.  Much better than the cloud-cuckoo land ideas of “One secular, peaceful, multi-religious, multi-ethnic state of Palestine, from the River to the Sea". Dream on. A ludicrous fantasy; prancing unicorns.

Why would we expect in such a unitary Palestinian state anything different from what’s happened in the region? That is Jews slaughtered or driven out, because what they want, what Hamas, presumably the governing power in this fantasy, want the world to be Judenrein.

All that is moot now. Bibi has caved to Biden and given up. He denies it, but that’s the result. I hope I’m wrong, but likely not.

Hamas will be resurgent. Israel is weakened by this. If it falls, if Hamas and the PA, and Hezbollah attack and take over, “from the River to the Sea”, the will be a second Holocaust, this time at least the number of the Nazis. And then there will be a spread of Sharia Law in the land, and then the spread of Islam, radical Islam, Hamas Jihadist Islam, to the rest of the region and to Europe. That is what they state as their aim, and we need to believe them. Look what they’ve done already. Convinced the world that theirs is the just cause, when they are a murderous, genocidal, apartheid state.

If there was ever a case of being careful what you wish for, this is it.

This is a disgusting outcome. Albeit the luvvies have a “ceasefire”. Where is there even talk of the hostages any more?

ADDED: Benny Gantz, who is in the Israeli War Cabinet, apparently said, when the attacks on Rafah was still being considered, that “you don’t put to 80% of a houefire and hope that the remaining 20% won’t burn the rest of the house down”. Well, that’s what they’re doing now. While still more than 20% of Hamas battalions remain in Rafah. All because Biden had to kneel to the Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib Hamas-wing of the Democratic party, up there in Dearborn Michigan, and its concentration of Muslim voters, and where just yesterday they were calling for “Death to America”.

This appeasement can’t turn out well.

Biden loses yet another war

After the ignominious Afghanistan withdrawal, handing the country to the Taliban, then inviting Putin to attack Ukraine, and failing to arm Kiev for self-defence, we now have Joe Biden demanding Israel give in to Hamas demands. IOW, a win for the HamaNazis.

Caroline Glick I’ve followed for years; she is a fair commenter, IMO. I don’t agree with every single thing in the video above. For example on TikTok I don’t know there’s proof of China deliberately twisting the algo to favour Hamas, though it’s true the algo is powerful and overwhelmingly the youngsters on TikTok skew anti-Israel. For the rest, when the data are both from the IDF and also from Hamas, and there’s conflict, I’m going to go with the Israel data.

Coleman Hughes nails it on the “genocide” nonsense

TBF I'm a bit surprised that Joe Rogan didn't know what Coleman told him. I did, and I assumed most people did. But if Joe doesn't it means heaps of people don't know these basic facts about the casualty figures.
Busy man, I guess.

“A poor competitor” | Xin Wang on China-US in EVs

[“A poor competitor” is the print version of the headline].

China was given huge leg up by Bill Clinton... to join the WTO while remaining a "developing country" (which it stilll is).

Tesla Trailing Twelve Month sales to Q1, by itself, are 13% of total vehicles sold in 2023. Its Model 3 was the highest selling car, ICE or EV, in the world. And regained sales lead over BYD in Q1.

It is coming out with a lower priced car. But even at $50k vs $10k for China, that doesn't account for GDP per capita difference, which is 8x more for the US, making EVs relatively more affordable in the U.S. than the cheapest EV in China.

The Biden government may be lagging in roll out of charging stations, but Tesla rollout of its Supercharges is proceeding at 33% p.a. Tesla are the only ones that matter.

Teslas Full Self Driving Technology (Supervised) Version 12.3.3 is getting rave reviews from users. Tesla is miles in front of any other EV maker in FSD. They plan a Robotaxi roll out on 8/8 this year.

Tesla produces more EVs than all the other US makers combined. When talking about comparison between China and the U.S., youre talking about Tesla Vs China.  That it.

I haven't even mentioned Tesla's Optimus Robots. Or its storage business. Or its AI business.

In short, I don't see Tesla as snails in this race. By the way, Elon Musk was just on X and he praised the quality of Chinese EVs! No need to get all defensive, Xin Wang

Angus Deaton won a Nobel Prize in economics. Now he says he got it wrong on globalization.

Nobel winner in Economics, Angus Deaton has changed his mind on three major things:

1. Trade Unions. Now thinks better of them. My view on this: depends in the union. In the U.S. the Teachers Union is a backward force.

2. Free Trade. Now thinks it's often been damaging. Talks of the "China shock": cheaper consumer goods good for the elite, but disemploy the working class. Unequal and unfair outcomes. My view: inclined to agree, though tariffs probably not the best solution.

3. Mass Immigration.  Now thinks some is good but too much — like now in the U.S. — is bad. Mainly for working class by depressing wages. My view: agree. Control immigration and secure borders. This used to be Democrat Party policy until two minutes ago. See Bill Clinton here in 1995. He sounds like a Republican today, doesn’t he?

Gabor Mate, another Jew-hating Jew

The speaker is Oren Cahanovitc, and he’s good on the facts and history that he speaks. Gabor Maté, by contrast, is a self-righteous solipsist, who, worse, is wrong on a lot of the history. To the grave harm of Israel and Israelis. So many Jews live in Canada and hate on Israel. It’s shocking to see.

My question to him and his ilk is this: If you get the Ceasefire you demand, what then? What of Hamas? What of the hostages? What of the future of Israel? Or does that not matter? The Jews can just leave or be slaughtered? Give us your vision, your idea, of what happens in an Israel that ceases to fight against the most evil Nazis the world has seen, the HamaNazis.

“As Gen-Z ‘ages like milk’, is it time to call code red on TikTok challenges?” | Serene Goh

Yes, and …

Tik Tok algos promote the radical trans agenda. In some circles four out of five girls (not boys so much) identify as something other than straight heterosexual. Crazy, 'dat.

Facebook and Instagram are also implicated. There's an argument for restricting them all for minors. Jonathan Haidt makes the case in his latest book, which I've just finished, "The Anxious Society".
