Hamas ARE Evil

The long war. Reflections on cease-fire in Gaza.

A long post below by Rod D. Martin.

A very good perspective.

I believe Hamas are evil. They kill and maim Israelis, Jews preferably. They also kill and brutalise their own people

Gaza could have been beautiful and rich. It was Hamas, and the people that voted for them, who turned Gaza into the tunnel-riddled charnel house it is today. Who use their own people as shields. Then blame the sword. It doesn’t wash.

Which is why no Arab state wants them. Not Egypt. Not Jordan. Not Syria. Not Lebanon. Nor even their patron death-cultists, the IRGC in Iran. Nobody in the Arab world wants them. Because as soon as they are in a new country they cause mayhem and butchery. No one wants that. Not even a majority Palestinian country like Jordan. Only in the west do we want them. At least a loony lot of us appear to want to invite them into our society. Including, incredibly, many in the LGBTQ community.

I have believed Hamas are evil since I first studied them in 2005. I saw that they followed the ideology of the Nazis. They made nazism even worse. They fused a millenarian, supremacist, misogynist, homophobic ideology to it. They throw in a Sky God who will drown you in virgin beauties if you die in pursuit of “killing Jews wherever you find them” (per the Hamas Charter). Killing Jews and Christians. And atheists like me, too.

Read the Koran. It’s all there. Read the Hamas Charter. This is its foundational and guiding document. Then read the Israel Declaration of Independence. I point out the clear differences in motivation

Prove me wrong.

Disclaimer: I don’t buy Martin’s “Trump as a 4-D chess player” narrative. I wish it were true. But I doubt it.

Back to Rod:

Some of you are telling me the Gaza deal can't last. You're not seeing the whole board.

There are two default assumptions at work here.

The first is that Islamist radicals can just spontaneously produce missiles, guns, and money from thin air. They can't.

The second is just general black pilling, which is frankly stupid. So you're demoralized: big whoop. You'd have been more demoralized in the summer of 1940, or for that matter of 1942. And you'd have been just as wrong. Get over yourself. Look at the facts.

"We love death more than the Jews love life". Sam Harris on the essence of Islam.

Sam Harris talks to U.K. host Piers Morgan. In the video above by OtherBarak.

I've been a follower of Sam's for decades now. I've bought his books and followed his podcasts.

Then I had a falling out with him, mainly over his extreme TDS.

My obligatory throat clearing is that I'm far from a fan-boy of Trump. He's inconsistent, incoherent and inarticulate. Just better than a Kamala. That's all. While Sam's views on him have at times seemed deranged to me. Like when he said to the Triggernometry lads something like "I don't care if Hunter Biden has dead babies in his basement, that still doesn't disqualify Joe...".

But I always thought he was spot on with his critique of Islam. He's well-read on it. As am I. We agree on the basic thrust: that there are many, a large minority, probably a plurality of the 2 billion Muslims world wide who are "deranged" -- Sam's word -- by the doctrines of their faith. And, no, it's not "all religions are equal". It's not "all religions have problematic texts". It's not "Jews are just as bad". Or any of that nonsense. The problem of Jihad, of Islam, is "orders of magnitude" -- Sam's words -- worse in the Muslim world than they are in any other religion on the planet and specifically of Jews.

I wish defenders of Israel -- and I'm glad to see Sam is a staunch defender -- would more often quote the founding documents of both the Israeli state and of Hamas. The Israeli Declaration of Independence sets out their guiding principles, and the Charter of Hamas set out their guiding principles. They could not be more revealing, or more opposite.

The Israeli Declaration of Independence:
[Article 13] THE STATE OF ISRAEL will be open for Jewish immigration and for the Ingathering of the Exiles; it will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

[Article 16]. WE APPEAL - in the very midst of the onslaught launched against us now for months - to the Arab inhabitants of the State of Israel to preserve peace and participate in the upbuilding of the State on the basis of full and equal citizenship and due representation in all its provisional and permanent institutions. [Here]

The Hamas Charter (Article 7):
Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it. (Preamble)
The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him." (Article 7)
Palestine is an Islamic land... Since this is the case, the Liberation of Palestine is an individual duty for every Muslim wherever he may be. (Article 13)
The Zionist project is a racist, aggressive, colonial and expansionist project based on seizing the properties of others; it is hostile to the Palestinian people and to their aspiration for freedom, liberation, return and self-determination. The Israeli entity is the plaything of the Zionist project and its base of aggression. (2017, Article iv).

Grok summary of Sam's points:

Sam Harris’ key points:
    • Hamas’s actions and widespread Muslim support are primarily driven by religious (jihadist/Islamist) ideology, not just politics or grievances.
    • Large numbers of Muslims worldwide are “powerfully deranged” by religious identity/symbols, prioritizing them even over their own children’s lives.
    • Gaza/West Bank schools (many UN-funded) teach young children the love of martyrdom and hatred of Jews, producing a culture of suicide bombers and child bombs.
    • Society accepts mocking other religions but not Islam, due to the risk of violent “psychopathic rage” over perceived insults to religious symbols.
    • Religious fanaticism exists among a tiny minority of ultra-Orthodox Jews/settlers (settlements are provocative), but it is orders of magnitude smaller; most Jews are secular.
    • Radicalization stems mainly from ideas of martyrdom and jihad that cross borders and recruit people with no personal grievances.
    • Israel is fighting a “suicidal death cult” that uses human shields, embeds among civilians, and sees its own civilian casualties as a PR advantage because believers expect paradise.
It's not a land war in Gaza. It's a religious war. Hamas doesn't want more land for "two states". It wants the annihilation of Israel, the killing and displacement of Jews, so that they can reoccupy "from the River to the Sea". And so does the Palestinian Authority. And so does Palestinian Islamic Jihad. They all do. All the countries surrounding Israel. The all want it.

And what's the west's reaction? On the Left it's to say: "Ok, let's recognise Palestine as a state". Which Australia has done. To its shame. Though at their current Labor Party Conference they seem to be proud of what they've done. I say: Shame.

Hamas are the real Nazis

 Alexandra Marshall

The Left running around calling small government, capitalist, social conservatives 'Nazis' while praising Palestine ... the county whose leadership ACTUALLY sided with the real Nazis while conservatives were off fighting Hitler.

You seriously could not make this crap up.

We are living in psycho world run by the delusional spawn of angry communist professors.

And the media nods along because they'll print literally anything to bring about the Big State, endless gravy train ticket of Labor's socialist utopia. [Link]

She’s 100% correct.

In WWII, the leader of the Muslims of the Middle East was the Grand Mufti  of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Al-Huseini. I’ve read a book about him, called “Hitler’s Mufti”. He spent the war in Berlin, a guest of Adolf Hitler, broadcasting on radio wild Jew-hatred to his captive Middle East followers. He organised Muslims into S.S. Army units to help the Germans liquidate Jews in Eastern Europe. He told Hitler that he would “take care of the Jews in the Middle East” once Hitler had done the job in Europe.

Al Huseini was -- and still is -- a hero to Muslims in the Middle East. Yasser Arafat was a distant relative and idolised him. By some measures he’s the foundational root of the venemous Jew hatred that only allows “No” as an answer, to never acccpet Jews as neighbours, to kill them even when they “hide behind every tree”.

Hamas are Al-Huseini spawn. Direct.

It doesn’t matter, not to me, that the majority of people in the west seem to have been infected with Hamas’ Hatred of Jews. I mean, of course it matters. But it doesn’t mean that the majority is right. Just as all the millions of Brownshirts idolising Hitler didn’t mean they were right. Or that he was…

When I first mentioned Hamas 15 years ago in this blog, I noted their Nazi practices. They used the Roman Salute. They are supremacist. They hate Jews. HATE! Hitler woulda loved them! And today’s young western Hamas-nicks too.

Communist-Islamists win big in New York

This is not me being crazy. This is not me being deluded in calling them Communists and Islamists. They themselves make no secret of it.

Who? Who am I talking about?

This has happened in the last few days, in the Democratic Primary for New York State elections. The Democratic Party candidates who won their primaries were all endorsed by Zohran Mamdani, Mayor of NYC and himself a self-declared Islamist and Communist. They have all offered their fealty to him, the new kingmaker of the Dems.

Each of them has said they hate America. Actually hate America. Yet representing people in New York State. Each has said that 911 was a good thing. Which they celebrated. They love and celebrate Hamas. They call for worldwide revolution. To “globalise the intifada”. Each glazes communism. Each is a member of the crypto-communist Democratic Socialists of America.

They despise America and its flag. One has said she used the American flag as toilet paper. Using the Flag as toilet paper! Shouldn’t that be disqualifying?!

But they’re winners of Democratic Primaries to be Representatives! In the Congress of New York State.

Sure, Free Speech and all. But these are Representatives. Who — to repeat and be extremely clear — have said they hate the country in which they live, they hate its flag and they support international terrorism. And yet are now one November election away from Representing the State of New York.

We must ponder this. Where in earth are we? And where is New York? Where is America?

Asmogold above is Zach Hoyt. He reckons this is a good thing because it makes clear where the Democratic Party is. Where that is, he reckons the majority of Americans is not going to like. So he thinks this is good for Republicans. Which is where he now stands. Or sits.

Like me, Asmogold is an old time Democrat. Like from the era of Bill Clinton or even Barack Obama. For sure I could buy into Clinton”s agenda, or even first-term Obama’s, of Free Markets, closed borders, stopping illegal immigration, law and order, helping the working class while expecting them to work if able. Staying out of foreign entanglements. Trying to control the budget.

But that’s no longer the Democratic Party of today. It’s changed and changing behind recognition.

I don’t agree with a hell if a lot of Asmogold’s views. But I do with many. His analysis of how this all came about is interesting and I largely buy it.

I sure hope Asmogold is  right that the majority of Americans won’t buy this Communist- Islamist bullshit. And that these Communist-Islamist flunkies won’t win in November. If he’s wrong then America and the west is in real trouble.

Communism is bad enough. Islam is worse. The combination is like Russian nerve poison.

The Ruthless Podcast has the four fellas, all veterans of political campaigns, give us their take. Which is along similar lines as Asmogold, though less “ranty”.

Trump Capitulates | Dan Schueftan

Sad but true. There were signs of this tendency when he stopped Israel from crushing Hamas.

This “deal” may change. We can hope. But for now, it’s giving in to the crazies in Tehran. Capitulation. Appeasement.

World peace, regional peace, aside, this may he Trump’s worst legacy.

In Islam, a Hudna, a ceasefire, a cessation of hostilities, is only so Muslim forces can regroup and ready themselves for more attacks on the enemy.

Islamist Iran

Uploaded Image

Too bigoted?…  Pig faces to mock islam? How dare we!?

Well, the  pig-face on the other side for a change. Usually it’s used to taunt Jews.

TBF we could add more piglets to the cartoon. Piglets like the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The Palestinian Authority. The PLO. The Houthis. Syria. Iraq. The Muslim Brotherhood and its jungle of offshoots.

Iran: “An Islamic terrorist theocracy that worships death” | Lisa Rosen

Iran’s Supreme Leader Khomeini proudly states that never-ending bloodshed and mass executions are divine Islamic worship, the very essence of “the teaching of Islam.”

This is the open glorification of human sacrifice.

This is why the Ayatollah regime publicly executes opponents, protesters, journalists, rape victims, and gay people with medieval brutality.

This is also exactly why Iran arms and funds Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria.

The regime is not interested in “resistance.” It is building a barbaric Islamist empire that spreads its savage Sharia laws by fire and sword across the region and beyond.

The world must stop pretending Iran’s Islamic Republic is a normal country.

It is an Islamic terrorist theocracy that worships death. It must be confronted, isolated, and ultimately defeated.

Refugee crises since 1900

I asked Grok for a list of world refugee crises since 1900.

It came up with 54 countries that have suffered refugee crises since the first one, in Armenia, in 1915.

All but one are resolved. The one not resolved is highlighted below: Palestine. Just one. Out of 54. The Palestinians.

The Palestinian refugee crisis remains unresolved because we let it. It was we, the west and the United Nations, that allowed this. The Arabs in the Levant (i.e.”Palestinians”) made maximalist demands, with maximum denial of compromise. And we accommodated them. We went along with it.

We, the United Nations, allowed:

1.  UNWRA: the only U.N. refugee body specifically for one people, the Palestinians. All the rest are handled by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

2.  We allowed 1948 refugees to pass on their refugee status to their descendants. No other group of refugees, not a single one of the other 53, is allowed to do this. Thus the number of Palestinian refugees has increased from 700,000 to well over 2 million today. All looked after by UNWRA.

3.  We allowed the surrounding Arab states, those surrounding Israel, to refuse to accept or give citizenship to fellow Arab refugees from the 1948 Israel-Palestine war.

4. We allowed UNWRA to become a creature of Hamas. It runs Hamas schools that are violently anti-Jew. It helps and covers for Hamas theft of food and foreign aid. So much that Hamas leaders are billionaires living in Qatar. UNWRA even had staff taking part in the October 7th killings, rapes, looting and kidnapping.

An alternative history is this: the Palestinian refugees handled in the same way as all the others refugee groups in the last century. We should jabs said “NO” to the maximalist Arab demands. No, to all of the above accommodations.

We would not now be facing the calls to “globalise the intifada”, to “kill all Jews”, to “destroy Israel”

In this alternative history, everyone would be better off. Economically and politically. Also mentally. This region could be a hub of innovation and growth. With peace. And a logical, realistic, handling of the “Palestinian Refugee Question”.

Silence of the Dogs

Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times puts his name to a Hamas-sourced alllegation abkit mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners in Israel. Including alleged rape by dogs.

Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz discusses with JNS podcast.

Timed to cover and overwhelm a much more soundly sourced and exhaustive report on the October 7th invasion, mass murder, mass raps, mass tortures. Canine Complicity by silencing the real crimes.

The New York Times has a long anti Israel and anti Jew history. There’s books about it. I’ve read a couple. The most recent and most authoritative being Bad News by Batya Ungar-Sargon

Mushroom clouds over Jerusalem. The Tucker “imminent threat”

The wolf really is there.

So, No.

We cannot allow Iran’s “imminent nuclear threat” be a mushroom cloud over Jerusalem. Or Tel Aviv.

No matter how much the Jew-hating Hamas and Jew-hating Western Hamasnics may pine for it. To “liberate Palestine”. To “globalise the intifada”.

Emily Schrader of JNS TV explains why in the above vid. And how much Israel has done to stop Iran’s nuclear threat. A threat to the world, by the way, not just to Israel.

It’s not “crying wolf “. You see the wolf in a distant copse. It’s approaching. You fire warning shots and build defences. It keeps coming. You keep firing and defending. That’s why the wolf hasn’t arrived. Not because it’s not there. But because you kept it at bay. Then comes the day you must kill it. Which is where we are today.

Aid to Israel is not a thing

Emily destroys the furphy that a few billions a year in U.S. tied aid is somehow critical to Israel. It’s not. It’s been steadily reduced over the years, with no ill effect on Israel. Bibi Netanyahu has announced he will stop it entirely. Good.

Emily shows Tucker Carlson predicting this or that. I remember Carlson making wild predictions about all sorts of things, which turned out just as wildly wrong.
  • How Israel would collapse without U.S. aid.
  • Trump killing arch-terrorist Qasem Soleimani in 2020 was going to lead to regional war.
  • Trump’s “Midnight Hammer” operation in June 2025 was going to lead to World War III.
  • The “Epic Fury” operation would fail at the cost of tens of thousands of American lives.
None of Carlson’s perfervid imaginings is true. None is acknowledged. None apologised for.

Tucker Carlson is a foolish empty vessel. He is loud only because his very emptiness echoes and reverberates his delusions.

Hamas murders its own

Nick Freitas is an ex Green Beret, trained in all manner of close quarters, urban battle.

He explains Hamas’ strategy fighting Israel. Which has been very successful. But which we must see through. And be clear eyed about it. Otherwise we give terrorists a guaranteed way of defeating an army.

Alan Dershowitz calls it the “Dead Babies Strategy”. For Hamas, the more dead of their own civilians, the better. And we risk rewarding them for this strategy.

Jeremy Boering on rhetorical tricks

Why I don’t go along with the pro-Hamas, hate-Israel crowd: because I don’t buy the rhetorical tricks.

Which are, courtesy Grok:

Here is a summary (names only) of the 18 rhetorical techniques Jeremy Boreing discusses in the video:

1.  Pre-suasion

2.  Presupposition

3.  Assertion stacking

4.  Asymmetric skepticism

5.  Authority transfer

6.  Illusion of insight

7.  False consensus signal

8.  Epistemic closure

9.  Burden shifting

10.  Social proof

11.  Motivated reasoning

12.  Elaborated truth effect

13.  Thought-terminating phrase

14.  Framing

15.  Repetition

16.  Hedges

17.  Inversion

18.  Narrative-driven sales

Jews fighting back

It’s about 99-1 pro-Hamas and anti Israel, so this, above, with Danny Seaman, is just a tiny bit of pushback on the narrative.

Especially on the BS of the “genocide”.

And of course”starving Gazans” when they’re getting twice the number of food trucks every day than they need, the surplus lining the pockets of Hamas bosses.

Greens (and BBC) deny Reality of Islam

Watch. And Marvel.

Anti-semitism is caused by… the fact that “We’re living in Rip-off.Britain”.

Apparently…. Rising price of eggs … leads to anti-semitism. Apparently…

According to Greens leader Rachel Millward.

This is the Green-Red alliance. Where…

Green = Hamas, etc. The whole panoply of Islamic supremacism.

Red = the Greens. Confusing, I know. But you get the picture.

By the way. Come the revolution. Come the victory of Islam, the first to be lined up and shot will be the Lefties. The Greens. As per Iran in 1979. When the Ayatollah came to power and killed his erstwhile allies, 30,000 of them. The Iranian leftist leaders.

Israel controls America…

Not.

Jeremy Boreing touches many of the points I’ve made on this here blog. (Jeremy, fwiw, is Christian).

I’ve been asked by Occasional Readers why I still support Israel.

My answer: Because it’s still right. Because it’s still good. While Hamas is still wrong. Hamas is still bad. While Iran’s tyrannical theocracy is still wrong. Is still bad.

All the noise, all the constant repetition of hate on Jews and hate on Israel, doesn’t make it right. It’s just proof, yet again, of Joseph Goebells “Big Lie” theory. Tell a big lie. The bigger the better. And tell it often. People will believe it. And today, weirdly, the Big Lie is coming from both Left and Right. (The latter now called the Woke Reich).

Well, I don’t believe the Big Lie. Nor the one about Israel. And the Jews. Or about how Hamas are brave “resistance fighters”.

I still support Israel. Unequivocally. Staunchly.

For reasons I’ve often repeated here. Which Jeremy handily summarises for me.

Jeremy’s take down of Tucker Carlson’s ludicrous claim that America has “no strategic interest” in Israel is spot on. If Israel, if the Middle East is not strategically relevant, then the term has no meaning. Of course it’s relevant. Hugely so. Israel is very much the bulwark against a major victory for extremist Islam.

Jeeemy doesn’t mention the economic benefits to America and the world of israel. It’s inventions and investments. On the high tech NASDAQ index, for example, Israel has the third highest number of companies listed, after only China and America itself.

On a recent YouTube talk, Ambassador Mike Huckabee listed the number of Israeli-Jewish inventions that have benefitted mankind. Tell me a similar list from the Arab-Muslim world. Heh…

Here’s a list from AI:
•  Drip irrigation system
•  USB flash drive (Disk-on-Key)
•  PillCam (capsule endoscopy)
•  Waze navigation app
•  Israeli emergency bandage
•  Mobileye driver assistance system
•  ReWalk exoskeleton
•  Cherry tomato
•  Polio vaccine (Jonas Salk)
•  Ballpoint pen (László Bíró)
•  Oral contraceptive pill contributions
•  ICQ instant messaging
•  Firewall technology (initial versions)
•  Solar water heater advancements
•  Copaxone (multiple sclerosis treatment)

But, you know, “Jews be Bad”…

A "Binational, Democratic, State" in Israel run by Hamas?? | Einat Wilf

Dr @EinatWilf
This is a response to all those who think that if Hamas takes over Israel, if the Intifada does work to overthrow the Jewish state, if Islamists rule "from the River to the Sea", then all will be fine and well. That there will be a return to some pre-1948 time when apparently all was sweetness and light between Muslims and Jews in this area of the Levant.

People believing this, calling for this, include pretty much all the Left in the west, the media, all of Europe, all the Muslim countries. ie, pretty much everyone. Including the loopy fringe group of fundamentalist Jews, the Naturei Karta, recently seen on New York streets, together with Hamas and other "Palestinians" calling for the downfall of Israel, and shouting Allahu Akbar. Go figure.

Einat Wilf I've posted about before. She's super shart. Intelligent, eloquent. And not blinded by any false delusions about what might happen if Hamas or the PA took over. Which, to be clear, would be genocide -- and actual genocide -- of all Jews in the area, just as a first up, followed by killing all Jews and all non-Muslims they could get their hands on.

How do I know this? Because they say so. Over and over. It's part of their founding document, the Charter of Hamas.

Hezbollah is the model for Iran proxies world wide | Loay Alshareef

Lebanon was known as the "Pear of the Levant", "the Paris of the Med"... the "Switzerland of the East". Now it's a basket case. Terrorised by well-armed murderous religious lunatics.

It was Palestinian terrorists wot done it. In the shape of Hezbollah, the "Party of Allah". Hezbollah invaded Lebanon after being kicked out of Jordan -- a Palestinian state itself! -- for being too radical even for Jordanians.

Hezbollah proceeded to be a parasite on the body of Lebanon, to change its character, to ruin it for Lebanese and foreigners alike.

This is the Iranian IRGC's model. A state within a state. An armed group stronger than the military of the country it parasitizes on. All funded by Iran.

All of which non-US westerners seem happy to go along with.

Iran's ambitions don't stop with the Middle East. They explicitly go to Europe and then to the rest of the west. That's what this war, Operation Epic Fury, is all about. Preventing more Hezbollahs all over the world. More Hamas' all over the world. More Houthis all over the world. More Palestinian Islamic Jihads all over the world.

We don't have to guess or speculate about this. Iran has been saying it clearly for fifty years. It says it still. It will go on saying it until their last breath.

The guy in the Short clip above is Loay Alshareef (Arabic: لؤي الشريف; born 11 November 1982), a UAE-based Saudi-born Egyptian activist who advocates for the Arab world to normalise relations with Israel.

Get that! There are Arabs willing to have better relations with Israel. If you can imagine it, it would be a huge improvement to having a terror state bent on killing everyone that doesn't accept their radical Shia Twelver Islam.

“Israel accepted, but Palestinians refused” | Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton

“Palestinians were offered a state on the entire West Bank and east Jerusalem as its capital. Israel accepted, but Palestinians refused. They did not care about a homeland for the Palestinians. All they wanted was to kill Israelis"

This must be shared every day.

Palestinians — Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Fatah, PLO… — have never accepted a “Two-State Solution”. They want Jews OUT. Out of Arabia, where they’ve been for 3,000+ years. Expelled or killed. End of….

Bibi understood that early on. I’ve only come to realise and understand that in recent years. It may be uncomfortable. Nevertheless it’s true.

It’s the ongoing story. Israel accepts. Palestinians refuse.

How to end the war? Win it

You don’t win a war by leaving the battle ground. You can claim victory all you want, but the other side is going to say “we outlasted you”. Neither do you win a war by a ceasefire. At best that gives a “frozen conflict” like Korea. But “victory”? That’s when the other side gives up. That’s when you achieve your clearly-stated war goals.

The goals of Operation Epic Fury are clear. No matter how much CNN, BBC, MSNBC and all the rest may repeat “the war aims are not clear”; they are. The president and Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio have stated them repeatedly and clearly. Here they are, from my memory:

1. Destroy the Iranian Army. Tick.

2. Destroy the Iranian Navy. Tick

3. Destroy or decimate the Iranian ballistic missiles system. In progress

4. Destroy the military manufacturing systems, such that 1, 2, and 3 cannot be rebuilt. In progress

The projected result of these four aims >> an Iran that can no longer threaten the region and the world. An Iran that cannot build a nuclear bomb. The Iranian people an opportunity to rise up and build their own government.

ADDED: Marco Rubio sets them out, again, clearly, to George Stephanopoulos of abc's Good Morning America

These are clear aims. I buy them. So do the vast majority of Republicans and a majority of all Americans.

Republicans on Iran war and Trump

I’m speaking here as one who remembers clearly the 2003 invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. In this household we were against both those wars. As Richard Clark, counter-terror czar, said at the time:

“Attacking Iraq after 911 was like attacking Mexico after Pearl Harbour”.

That sure stuck in the mind…

“This time it’s different”. Well, yes, it is. For a start the clearly-expressed aims are convincing. We were never convinced by the WMD excuse for attacking Iraq. We were not convinced by Colin Powell’s pivotal presentation to the United Nations. We were never convinced that “getting” Osama bin Ladin needed a full-scale war in Afghanistan.

Iran, by contrast does have uranium enriched to 60%; it does threaten the region and the world with death and destruction; it has killed thousands of Americans and people of all nations, and hundreds of thousands of its own people; it does support terror proxies, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis; it does have a ballistic missile program aimed at Europe and the United States. It does threaten the world with nuclear annihilation. Even as that would annihilate Iran itself. Its religious lunatics are apocalyptic millenarians, ecstatically happy to be incinerated in a theocratic mushroom cloud.

Let’s also recall that in Iraq we did not lose the war. The war was quickly and convincingly won. We lost the peace. The whole process of “nation building” was ineptly handled; it should never have been attempted. There is no such aim in Operation Epic Fury in Iran.

That’s called “learning from experience”.

Emily Scheader makes my points better than me, in this video, Grok transcript summary below:

Islam really DOES "hate our freedoms"

This was Question number one in the 3.5 hour (!) discussion between Coleman Hughes and Dave Smith some 5 months ago

Coleman agrees with Dave's opening claim that there's no truth to the idea that Osama bin Ladin and Al Qaeda attacked America on 911 because "They hate our freedoms".

While I'm shaking my head: but it is true!

And I have the proof. The writings of Osama bin Ladin himself.

Look at this quote from bin Ladin:

For practically everything valued by the immoral West is condemned under Sharia law.”

Isn't that the very definition of hating the "immoral West" for its freedoms? Given that Freedom is our most cherished Value?

Bin Ladin's writings were collected and translated by Raymond Ibrahim in his book "The Al Qaeda Reader" (2002). Which I consider -- after my 20 years of reading and following the deeds and depredations of Islam -- to be a must-read for anyone trying to understand motives of the likes of ISIS, Al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, Jihadis in general and, yes, even the Iranian mullahs today.

One of the few who does understand, who's not a Muslim, is Sam Harris. He has written well and trenchantly on the subject. EG: "What do Jihadists really want?", 26 August 2016. And the related post on ISIS.

Meanwhile, Dave Smith's belief that Jihadi Muslims are out to attack the west because of (or mainly because of) what he calls "terrestrial grievances", like the Israel-Palestine issue, colours every bit of his analyses, and destroys most of them.

One way this belief ruins his analysis is that it's western-centric. The idea that if we we fix this or that, then all will be well. No. It's not true.

We can do all the Jihadis demand, attend to all their grievances, pacify all their problems, and they will still want to kill us (unless we convert). Because that's Islam. That's what Islam demands. That's what the Koran demands. That's what Muhammad, o.b.o. his god, demands.

I'm reposting below a piece I wrote here on 25 August 2009. I was responding to. BBC World Service radio program of that day. I talk a lot about Ibrahim and the writings of bin Ladin.

I remember thinking that even if the BBC did nothing about my suggestion, I might educate some of its staffers in the editorial rooms. In this I have clearly had zero impact, for they are more Islamo-philic than ever.

Yet, as I re-read what I wrote 17 years ago, it's just as true today as it was then. It's been true since the birth of Islam 1,400 years ago: Submit or Die, infidel!

The post, 25 August 2009:

If we give away Israel, all will be ok.... (not)
