San Fransicko

This is a result of policy.

It didn’t just happen. It’s not because of capitalism. It’s because progressive DAs went soft on crime — all well intentioned, but “the road to hell…” — people looted and shoplifted with impunity and so business said “I’m done” and left. 

Policy did this. 

I guess there’s something in there too, about the change in retail: online shopping vs in-store. But then what about the F&B? And also kind of weird, seems to be plenty of people wandering around.
