Elon Musk is literally carrying America on his back | X- Freeze

Elon Musk is literally carrying America on his back

At this point, the whole America vs China industrial race is actually

Elon Musk vs China

China is an entire industrial superpower

Thousands of companies, massive supply chains. Enormous manufacturing capacity, state-backed infrastructure....

And yet across many of the technologies defining the future, America’s strongest counterweight keeps coming back to one man: Elon Musk

EVs + autonomy: Tesla vs China

Humanoid robots: Optimus vs China

AI + massive data centers: SpaceXAI / Colossus vs China

Batteries + grid storage: Tesla Energy vs China

Lithium refining + battery materials: Tesla vs China

Advanced manufacturing: Tesla + SpaceX vs China

Space launch + reusable rockets: SpaceX vs China

Satellite internet: Starlink vs China

Logic + memory + advanced chip packaging: TerraFab vs China

Energy infrastructure: Tesla solar + storage vs China

Orbital AI compute: SpaceX vs China

Now zoom out and look at the stack:

EVs → batteries → energy → AI → robots → chips → manufacturing → rockets → satellites → orbital compute

These are not isolated businesses. Each layer increasingly feeds the next

Elon is literally building an American industrial stack capable of going head-to-head with the industrial power of China itself

One ecosystem vs an industrial superpower

Absolutely insane when you zoom out

“I’m alternately exhilarated and terrified” by ASI | Elon Musk

ASI = Artificial Super Intelligence.

The Economist lady has done decent research in the AI stuff. But cops flak, rightly so, for what she says at the end to Elon. For which he gives her heaps.

Why Elon Musk bought Twitter | Seth Dillon

"We [The Babylon Bee] have a refusal to treat silliness seriously"
-- Seth Dillon

Towards the end: Free Speech isn't enough. It's the start.  The news media, social media, commenters, news reporters all have a responsibility to get it right. To report the Truth. There is such a thing. Not "your" truth, or "my" truth. But THE truth.

The Babylon Bee is the new -- and better -- The Onion, which has gone off because it went Woke.

They're a bunch of practicing Christians at the Babylon Bee. But, atheist me, I don't mind. They make nice jokes.

A 2018 headline: "CNN Purchases Industrial-Sized Washing Machine To Spin News Before Publication."

This specific headline became highly famous after the fact-checking website Snopes officially rated the satirical article as "false". Fact-checked! Yikes!

How the madness began | Paul Marshall

The 100 year history of Woke in 20 minutes.

Sir Paul Marshall starts with a quote:

“My views are pretty much those of a Democrat circa 2010. But I have been demonised relentlessly”. [*]

Those are the words of Elon Musk. He didn’t leave the Democrat party. The Party left him. Other prominent ex-Democrats feel the same. Cable host Bill Maher, politician Tulsi Gabbard, Environmental campaigner Robert Kennedy

Most Dems today don’t consider Bill Clinton a Democrat! He’s grise without the eminence.

A good summary by Marshall of how we got here. The Woke Era.

More detail? “America’s Cultural Revolution” by Christopher Rufo. “Made in America” by China’s Cultural Revolution escapee Xi Van Fleet is also a good read on this.

[*]  Musk posted this in X on 16 February 2016:

“The left calls people on the right “nazis” or “fascists” when they have not even physically harmed another human being, let alone advocated genocide or war.

My actual views are pretty much those of a Democrat circa 2010, but I’ve been demonised relentlessly with the above slurs.”

The Overton Window shifts Left. Thanks, Colin Wright

“How China’s aerospace vision differs from Elon Musk’s SpaceX” | SCMP

China’s “net system” captures return rocket
My comment at the site on China aerospace vision differs from Elon Musk’s SpaceX:

Classic China Cope!

SpaceX was founded in 2002, China's space industry 46 years earlier.

SpaceX landed reusable rocket in 2015, eleven years earlier than China.

SpaceX launches more per year into space than all other space nations combined.

SpaceX, a public company, launches double what the country of China launches.

SpaceX cost per kg to space one-third of Chinas Long March rockets.

SpaceX created Starlink, revolutionary worldwide internet access....

But... China relanding a booster eleven years LATER than SpaceX shows "superiority of the State Owned Model". Right…

Remember? Chinese experts — experts all over the world — said landing rockets back on earth was “impossible”.  Then when SpaceX did it, the cope continued: “Oh well, Elon didn’t do it as soon as he said he would”. (!)

Elon Musk being the guy who turns “impossible” into the merely “late”. (It’s happened with Tesla, too).

SpaceX will study what China has done, but won’t copy it. “Copying is not our style”. It sure is China’s style though. Baidu, WeChat, Alibaba, Taobao, even its EVs. All copied. Mind you, they do a damn fine job of it. They often improve the original. But it’s hard to come up with a single invention from China in the 21C that’s world-changing and a household name.

All recognising China’s bright history and world-changing innovations (the compass, gunpowder, paper) in its long and remarkable history. See: Joseph Needham “Science and Civilisation in China”.

Earlier: SpaceX launches more than Rest of World.

"We're not afraid of the pain of failure" : SpaceX and the price of success

Wonderful doco. Inspiring.

I say this thing, which is true:

SpaceX only exists because of Elon Musk

Who single-handedly proves the "Great Man" thesis: without this man, it wouldn't have happened.

If you doubt it, read the details of how SpaceX came to be what it is today, in Walter Isaacson's Elon Musk

Happy 250th America!

Via the lens of Elon Musk's posts on X. What he's "liked" and commented on...

Thursday, 2 July 2026

SpaceX > R.O.W.

For the Year to June 2026:

SpaceX launches: 76. Successful: 100%

Rest of World (ROW) launches: 49. Successful: 88%

Elon Musk has done what was unthinkable, even “impossible” a decade ago. A private individual launching rockets… then a private individual launching and retrieving rockets… then a privately individual launching more rockets than the ROW combined. At 100% success. And retrieving, reusing them.

But… you know, “Elon bad”.  Because he thinks, as I do, that the Democratic Party in America has gone lala-loopy crazy left, full-on Socialist. Anti-democratic hard-authoritarian Left. Not me saying this: they, the Dems, say it themselves, loud and proud.

Meanwhile. You have something you need to put in space? How do you like your odds if you don’t use SpaceX? Because you don’t like Elon. How do you like the 12% chance of losing your precious cargo…?

Why “They” hate Elon

 Brivael Le Pogam

They do not hate Elon Musk despite his achievements. They hate him because of what those achievements expose.
He is the living refutation of crony capitalism — the cozy, managed system where success flows not from building better things but from regulatory moats, lobbying access, subsidy capture, and the right friendships. That system wears the costume of "capitalism" while functioning as its opposite: a protection racket for incumbents, held together by red tape and quiet corruption, where the press, the regulators, and the entrenched giants all scratch one another's backs.

Shorter Brivael: they hate Musk because he exposes Crony Capitalism. Exposes its cushy, quiet, hidden, life. Exposes what amounts to a massive grift.

By the way, China’s version of capitalism which Beijing calls “Socialism with Chinese characteristics” is also a form of Crony Capitalism. At least, the private sector of it is. The State Owned sector remains the state-owned sector, with all that being run by government apparatchiks involves.

Who are the “They” in the title? Why, all those that hate on Elon, o.c.!

This is the essay I would have written if I’d been able to write as elegantly as Brivael Le Pogam.

Elon Musk the great inventor, builder, capitalist | WSJ

Elon Musk officially entered the canon of the greatest inventors, builders and capitalists not only of our time but arguably of humankind. What a time to be alive. What an extraordinary era to build, writes @EliseStefanik

The Truth About Elon Musk's Wealth | All-in pod and Steven Mark Ryan

Follow-on from my post just now.

Courtesy of Aussie YouTuber Steven Mark Ryan

Brings us a discussion by the All-in pod bros: Jason Calacanis, David Sacks, David Friedberg, Chamath.

With some clear explanations of how and why Elon became a trillionaire. As Sacks points out: he has not one single dollar more in cash today than he had last month. All that's happened is that the public has valued the stock he has in a company he created at more than it was when it was private.

Why Europe could never produce an Elon Musk. Nikos Sotirakopoulos. An ex-communist, turned Common-sensical.

Imagine Elon Musk is truly evil…

So much disinformation and misinformation about Elon Musk

My sum of it all: His haters are either knaves or fools. Either dishonest knaves (disinformation) or ignorant fools (misinformation).

Disinformation is false info that’s deliberately out out there because you don’t like the person.

Misinformation is spread by ignorance. You near something bad about a person you hate; you’re happy to spread it because it harms the person you hate.

Like Brivael Le Pogam (below) I also read and listened to lots by and about Musk. Even more than Brivael I think.

Even before Musk was hated by the Left today, I was reading about him.

I’ve read four books about Elon and his companies, so far:
  • Elon Musk, by Walter Isaacson
  • Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX…. by Ashlee Vance
  • Character Limit: How Elon Musk Destroyed Twitter by Kate Conger and Ryan Mac
  • The Book of Elon, by Eric Jorgenson
None of these books is a hagiography. None is by an Elon fan-boy. The Twitter one is downright hostile to Elon, though not aged at all well, given the clear improvements to Twitter now X.

The best of the books is the one by Walter Isaacson. He followed Elon everywhere, every day for two years. He’s written a terrific bio, so elegantly written it’s a real page turner.

Then there’s Elon on social media. Multiple long-form interviews with people like Alex Fridman and Joe Rogan. Even the BBC.

From all of this I get a feel for Elon Musk and what drives him. As Brivael says below, at the top of the list there’s Freedom. Musk tries to contribute to the flourishing of freedom for humanity. “I’m a big fan of humanity” says Musk. He talks often of his drive “to keep alight the fragile flame of human consciousness”. All of these are life aims repeated often by Elon. But his haters ignore this. Instead they run a narrative that all he’s doing is to try to enrich himself by more “tax breaks for billionaires”. But Enrichment is a byproduct not the aim.

So, no, I’m don’t buy any of the nonsense that’s spread by people who used to love him when he was, so they thought, on “their side”, but made a big move to support another party, another candidate for president, namely Donald Trump. That alone sent them out of their minds.  Yet Elon didn’t change. His values, his aims, didn’t change. His commitment to his companies, his commitment to help progress humanity, didn’t change.

Anyway, below are Brivael Le Pogam’s thoughts in this. Were it not for the X platform I would never have known of this man Brivael writing in his native French. A man who seems widely read in all the major French philosophers, and writes about them often and elegantly. Philosophers like René Girard, who again, I’d not heard of. Now know, thanks to X. Thanks, IOW, Elon.

Bernie Sanders' post and Bill's full reply here

SpaceX Future. A world of Super Abundance.

Steven Mark Ryan, the Aussie-based Tesla Bull, gives us his vid above. Which introduces Antonio Gracias, long-time Tesla and SpaceX investor and now Board Member of the newly public SpaceX.

Antonio recently tweeted that he'd been with Elon, on a road trip in the early 2000s, when they'd discussed the idea of setting up a Rocket Company. That's now SpaceX. Tech bros change the world on a car trip.

SpaceX's StarLink is being provided free to the Philippines after its earthquake to allow ruined towns to communicate. SpaceX has donated free StarLink terminals to rural schools in Kenya to give them online lessons. He's done the same for kids in Haiti. Horrid man, that Elon...

Dems melt down over Elon's success: SpaceX IPO fallout...

Rich Lowry takes the words out of my mouth on this issue.

Talking about the number of industries that Elon Musk has gone into and revolutionised. Car, Solar, Space, Satellite internet, Tunnel boring, curing disabilities (Neuralink). And before all of that: mapping (Zip2), payments systems (PayPal).

And the craziness of those on the Left who are going crazy because Musk is "the world's first Trillionaire". And... "who needs that much money?!". As if his wealth is in gold bars and cash, in a big pool, that he jumps into, like Scrooge McDuck

No, what Elon and billionaires do is to allocate capital. To make more business. To hire more people. To make more people wealthy. Way more than any one or all of the likes of Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, AOC, Ayanna Prestley, Tim Walz, Jimmy Kimmel. All these no hopers, who are wealthy, but not from creating things, or making others wealthy, but from sucking on the government teat. Screw them.

ADDED: Take all those in the para above — Warren to Kimmel — and ask them one simple question: “Have you created a single job?” Actually created. In your long career? One? Not just hired office staff for a government-paid position or network-sponsored stage managers? Actually done something that’s given people a job?

Answer: NONE. Nada. Niente. Not a single job created by a single one of these winging wankers.

Whereas Elon has created hundreds of thousands of highly-paid jobs. For his staff and their families. Not to mention the thousands who have just been made wealthy by the SpaceX IPO. By having had the guts to accept SpaceX stock in part payment for their expertise. Owning a part of the company. That’s capitalism. That’s the way of the market place. Long may it last. To continue outperforming the dreariness of Warren & CO’s socialist vision of poverty for all.

Screw the ignorati.

"Leftism is the enemy of humanity". Contemplating the Left's reaction to the SpaceX IPO | Robby Starvbuck

Today’s SpaceX IPO and the immediate attacks by leftists on
@elonmusk should make one thing crystal clear to everyone watching:

Leftism is the enemy of humanity. It’s an extinctionist movement that hates excellence and, when carried to its inevitable conclusion, would kill off our species. Watch the ragtag socialist/commie crew of AOC, Bernie Sanders, Platner, Mamdani, Elizabeth Warren, etc. long enough and you’ll see it clearly. They resent excellence. They’re suspicious of ambition. They demonize our best builders and capital allocators. If you’re somehow on the fence because you’ve been led to believe that it’s immoral for someone to have a trillion dollars, consider this: They create precisely nothing of value themselves. They’re the professional version of the worthless critic we all know in our own lives. No innovations. No companies. No major breakthroughs. No employees, aside from staff we’re forced to fund with our tax dollars. On the other hand, Elon has created over 150,000 high-paying jobs at his companies. That doesn’t count contractors, suppliers or their employees. When you add those in, you’re likely talking about millions of jobs affected by him. He’s created tens of thousands of millionaires. His companies changed the car game forever, revolutionized internet access, gave us true free speech online again, helped the blind see, gave autonomy back to disabled people, changed the financial world and will make humanity a spacefaring civilization, which could ultimately save humanity if Earth faces an extinction-level event.

The question they want you asking is whether he has too much money. The question I want you asking is this: What kind of society do you want to live in?

World largest company flotation! SpaceX

Gwen Shotwell, President of SpaceX, thanks the staff, at the Nasdaq float of SPCX, introduces “my boss” Elon Musk

World’s biggest IPO flotation just happened.

One tiny quibble. I don’t know if humans will ever be able to go “beyond our solar system”. Unless we can find a way to go faster than light. Even Elon can’t do that…. The fastest things we’ve ever built would take 75,000 years to get to the nearest non-solar star: Alpha Centauri.

My previous posts on SpaceX

ADDED: Oh... and Elon Musk just became the world's first Trillionaire as a result of this flotation. Now worth around $US 1.2 Trillion

Friday, 12 June 2026

SpaceX IPO Day. Yay!

Just to note that today is the launch of SpaceX as a public company, in the United States, via its Initial Public Offering (IPO), fixed at $US 135 per share.

This is set to be the largest IPO in world history.

Still, Demand is through the roof. Or up in space.

I've been long Elon for a long time. Long Tesla. Plan to be long SpaceX, though might wait for a time, till things settle. No particular rush. This is a Buy 'er and Keeper.

I've posted often about SpaceX, with the posts that come up by putting "SpaceX" in the search box, listed here.

To Infinity.... And Beyond!...
