Who is Ilhan Omar?

According to Wikipedia:

Ilhan Abdullahi Omar (born October 4, 1982) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Minnesota's 5th congressional district since 2019. She is a member of the Democratic Party.[2]

Her family served the Siad Barre government. I remember them. They were always described as "hard-line Marxist". The Wiki entry hints at how clan-based Somalia is. Like most African countries. Based on tribal culture.

So, she comes from a hard-line Marxist supporting family. Hmm...

Omar was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, on October 4, 1982,[11][12] and spent her early years in Baidoa, in southern Somalia.[13][14] She was the youngest of seven siblings. Her father is Nur Omar Mohamed, an ethnic Somali from the Osman Mohamud sub-clan of Majeerteen,[15] a clan in Northeastern Somalia.[16] He was a colonel in the Somali Army under Siad Barre, and served in the Ogaden War (1977–78). He also worked as a teacher trainer.[17][18] Omar's mother, Fadhuma Abukar Haji Hussein, an ethnic Benadiri, died when Omar was two.[19][20][21][22] She was raised by her father and grandfather, who were moderate Sunni Muslims opposed to the rigid Wahhabi interpretation of Islam.[23][24] Her grandfather Abukar was the director of Somalia's National Marine Transport, and some of Omar's uncles and aunts also worked as civil servants and educators.[18] She and her family fled Somalia to escape the Somali Civil War and spent four years in a Dadaab refugee camp in Garissa County, Kenya.[25][26][27]

The thing that always got me about Omar since her early days in Congress was just how ungrateful she is: for her family having been given refuge in America, and for her having been given the chance to be a member of Congress. That would be possible in so few other countries.

I remember when I went to China in 1976 to study Chinese, that I was grateful to have been given the opportunity. I took on a Chinese name, wore Chinese clothes ate Chinese food and learned the Chinese language. No way... just No Way, would I have moaned and groaned out the country that gave me that opportunity. Not so with Ilhan Omar.

More than that: she's been recorded on video speaking to Somalis in America, telling them that she will "work for Somalia". That's surely against the Oath of Office she takes as a representative to the US Congress, which requires allegiance to America.

And now we find that she's complicit, at the very least, in the massive fraud scheme that Somali Americans have perpetetrated on the American taxpayer: defrauding up to $8 Billion in federal funds. She does nothing to say that this needs to be pursued and wiped out. As did Italians when they FBI went after the Mafia. No, she dodges and excuses and calls the administration "racist" for even calling it out.
