My own concern from these distant Hong Kong shores is that the incessant focus on race makes things worse not better. A learned person somewhere sometime said “the best way to stop racism is to not be racist”. Too much of the CRT stuff, from “White Fragility” and Ibram X Kendi on, is specifically racist. 

ADDED: We’ve seen before, in the UK, how school kids come home crying. Little Black kids crying because they have been told by their teacher that they have no hope in life because of “systemic racism” (whatever that means) and little white kids crying because they’ve been told they are oppressors, and that they can never not be oppressors (this is the crux of CRT). How disempowering! How much better would be a message that you can make it if you work hard. You have agency. Coming from me, an aging Xi’s white male, that  counts not one jot. Because I am A Bad Person. But others say the same, including many Black folks, like John McWhorter above, and even more famous ones, like Morgan Freeman telling Don Lemon you can make it. You have agency. You are not irredeemably crushed by your race.
