Listening to NPR — America’s National Public Radio — a Democratic lawyer in Texas, says Texan governor Abbot is gaslighting people about the problems on the southern border, the massive increase in illlegal immigration. According to her he’s making a big deal over something that’s just not a crisis.
What she does not mention:
1. That since Biden dumped all previous controls on day one of his presidency, numbers crossimg have surged ten-fold. Unprecedented numbers are crossing rhe border, a direct result of policy. The main change being to the previous “stay in Mexico” policy. Refugee claimants were held in Mexico until their claims for refugee status were reviewed. Biden changed that. Now they claim refugee status at the border, are given a court date four years later and released. It’s now a “catch and release” policy. The word has gone out and millions (~10 million in 2023) from all corners have arrived for the free entry to the United Staates.
2. That Abbot has transferred many illegal arrivals to sanctuary cities, run by democrats, and that they are saying they are overwhelmed and their cities — the likes on New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Denver — are “close to breakdown.

ADDED: By contrast: Our son is applying for a visa from within the U.S. Legally. The process is long and complex. America makes it hard for people with skills; easy for those with none.
