Elon Musk is hard at work trying to make the US government more efficient. To cut out waste, to bring down the nearly $40 Trillion debt, the annual $2 Trillion budget deficit.
Everyone agrees that the budget deficit, the total debt, is a huge problem. Which if not fixed will bankrupt the nation. EG; Financial Armageddon. But... noone does anything about it. Except now. President Trump is serious. So he gives the job of defining the problem, and also the solution to Elon.
Elon is a good guy to do this because of his record. And because, as he says, the government is "a company at limit", with a monopoly on violence. A "company at limit" means that it's a company, but a large -- a huuuge -- one, with monster complexities. But still a company. And Elon has shown how he can make companies work.
But the left, the Dems, are having conniptions. Their minds are blown by what he's trying to do, via the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE.
They act as if this is a unique and dictatorial threat to the government, one directed by a Hitler, via his henchmen. They forget -- as I had -- that both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama trimmed the size of the government, in Clinton's case by some 400,000 to bring the deficit into balance. And for that effort, both Clinton and Obama had bipartisan support.
This time, they've just gone crazy and there's plenty of vids out there showing them in various stages, in various places, being utterly crazy.
Elon has brought in a small team of super smart young men to help him. They've immediately been attacked by the Left. They've been doxxed and their parents have had death threats. That's truly horrible.
Kara Swisher is a luvvie on the left, beloved of CNN, MSNBC and so on. She's supposed to be a tech guru. But when she was asked "How did Musk come to hire these kids?", she answered "I don't know". But then proceeded to tell us, despite "not knowing", that "there was no vetting process at all."
Now, one thing I know about Elon, from reading two books about him, and following him for years on the internet, is that that's just plain crazy. One thing Elon obsesses over is vetting: picking the very best people for his companies.
Vetting for the very best people is how he manages to create rockets that are reusable; that are snatched from the sky by "chopsticks"; that can go and save the NASA astronauts on the International Space Station; that build the Starlink internet satellite constellations; how he can create the best selling car -- not just the best-selling EV -- in the world; how he can create Neuralink to allow people to control machines with their minds. People who have worked with him say it's been the most exciting and fulfilling experience of their lives. They work surrounded by high level competence and genius.
For Swisher to say what she said makes her a Fool or a Knave. An Ignoramus or a Lier. Even if CNN does lap it up. That just makes them more the fools. Or knaves.
I've said it before and will continue to say it: Elon Musk is the unique genius of the millenium. Not just of this decade or this century, but of the millenium. He is the most unique combination of visionary, entrepreneur, manager and innovator the world has seen in my lifetime. I feel lucky and blessed, as we should all, to be living in the Era of Elon. Let the naysayers be naysayers. They're losers and ignoramuses.

PS: I'd thought "Savant" was the wrong word, but turns out it's completely correct. Oxford: "a very learned or talented person, especially one distinguished in a particular field of science or the arts."
I was thinking of "idiot savant". Which Kara Swisher is, minus the "savant".
