I recently heard a call for a “new Crusade”, and I’m like.. what?! Crazy, loony right-wing Christian stuff.
Remember how Michelle Obama got involved? She helpfully sent out a Tweet “Bring back the children” after the Jihadist-terrorist group Boko Haram kidnapped 300 girls from a Christian school in Nigeria. Tweeting, for her, was good enough.
I’m a long-term atheist. But how can I not support actions to stop the genocide of Christians in Nigeria? It’s been going on for decades. Virtually unnoticed. I gave money to ETP. it’s not a big sacrifice. Just that it’s a little more practical than tweeting “Bring back the children”….
Across Nigeria, Christians are being forced to live under the shadow of terrorism.
Villages are attacked. Families are kidnapped. Churches are threatened. Farmers are driven from their land. And in too many communities, believers go to sleep knowing that armed terrorists could arrive before morning.
Equipping the Persecuted exists because awareness alone is not enough.
We are committed to standing with persecuted Christians on the ground and helping them survive, rebuild, and defend their communities. When attacks happen, our teams move quickly—bringing emergency relief, medical assistance, food, and support to families who have lost everything.
But we also believe Christians should not be abandoned to wait for the next attack.

Our mission is bigger than responding to persecution. We want to see it end.
