WIRED has discontinued Made in China, the newsletter created by Zeyi Yang and Louise Matsakis. The podcast China Decode, co-hosted by Alice Han and James Kynge, has been shut down due to a lack of advertising support. |
Independent reporting on China is becoming harder to sustain at a time when it matters more than ever. There is more fast China news than ever, but deeply researched work is struggling, while readers are seeing more hot takes for clicks and biased coverage serving political agendas. |
