SCMP - What choice do Hong Kong protesters have when the options are the PLA or dictator-in-the-making Carrie Lam?

Paul Chan's op-ed is sanctimonious nonsense from one who sees only "kindness and bravery" but doesn't see the taxi drivers forced out of their taxis, beaten up and their taxis vandalised, their living destroyed.
Who Doesn't see the trashing of our subway (world-class til the vandals got to it).
Who Doesn't see the old folks beaten up, because they object to the vandalism.
Who Doesn't see Maxims trashed because their elderly founder voiced support for the government.
Who Doesn't see the naked and nasty bigotry to mainlanders.
Who Doesn't see that the police — far from unaccountable, — have shown remarkable restraint in the glare of international media.
Who Doesn't see the thousands of small business owners whose life savings will be bankrupted, through no fault of their own.
Who Doesn't see the brutal extinguishing of free speech by these "kind and brave" freedom fighters.
Who Doesn't see just so much he'd be better off stilling his pen up and heading back to his home in comfortable Stockholm.
Rather than stirring up bitterness and division here.
Lam a "dictator-in-the-making"?! For goodness sake, get a grip.
Bi Bi Dr Chan.
