‘Coronavirus: Hong Kong to relax social-distancing rules’ | SCMP

94% deaths over 70 y.o. 68% > 80 y.o.

Why on earth are swimming pools and beaches still closed? There is nothing in the science or in global experience to suggest they are vectors for transmission. The CDC notes:
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there is currently no evidence that SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds. [Link]
A study of 7,300 Covid patients in China, part-funded by our own government, found only one that was contracted outdoors. The study concludes:
The transmission of respiratory infections such as SARS-CoV-2 from the infected to the susceptible is an indoor phenomenon. [Link]
So why doesn't our government follow the science and open up all outdoor activities? Opening up indoor activities while keeping outdoor ones closed is the opposite of the science.
More worrying, from your report is that our civil servants appear now to be working on a zero coronavirus  policy. That has never been achievable, and was explicitly not the aim at the outset (remember "flatten the curve"?). Aiming for it now will lead to devastation of our city. (As tourism lawmaker Yiu Si-wing notes in the article).
For goodness sake, let's get real about this virus. Deaths remain overwhelmingly concentrated in the very elderly with co-morbidity. Let us open up everything, protect the vulnerable and let the rest get on with life.
Pf etc…
