The One-Israel Solution: the only realistic option

I couldn’t have said it better than Ron DeSantis. Every. Word. True.

Speaking at the Israel America Council meeting. The one where Trump yesterday trod on a rake.

Though, to my shame, it’s only quite recently that I came to understand that the “2-State solution” is not only not possible, but is not even what the “Palestinians” want. Is not what they ever wanted. Try to find a map of a “2-State” which the “Palestinians” would accept. It doesn’t exist. Because that was never the aim and is not the aim today. The aim from the beginning was to destroy the Jewish state. The same Jewish state that in its founding in 1948 had a Constitution which welcomed all people of all ethnicities of all religions into its borders. Contrast that with the Hamas Charter which calls for the genocide of Jews in all of the Middle East and in all the world.

At the end of the vid above he talks of the Jewish state being granted by God. As an atheist Zionist, I don’t think that’s persuasive. I’m more persuaded by the history, the legality, the morality, than by God. Though as he says, in the region nothing is more important than God. Aka Allah. And that is of course true. So it doesn’t matter I guess if I think the God reason is persuasive or not. It’s what counts in the region. And so far it does seem god I’d in the side of the Jews…

And yet. Leaders on all sides — Wang Yi, Kaaaah-mla Harris, Keir Starmer, Antony Albanese — keep talking about the “2-State solution” as if it’s an option. It’s not. The sooner the west recognises the reality the sooner peace will come. You don’t get peace by surrendering. Which is what a call for “ceasefire” is. Surrender. Capitulation.
