This is important to know about Islam's world view. Their belief that everyone is a Muslim. Even Jews and Christians who lived before the foundation of Islam in the 7th Century. I first knew of it back in 2001, when I read the Koran. And I thought "holy shit". If this is what we're dealing with we're in real trouble. As indeed we were and are. 

But how can it be??

Basically it's like this:

Jews and Christians: "We were here thousands of years ago". 

Muslims: "No, you weren't. You were Muslims then. You just deviated from the correct path, until Mohammad came along to steer you to the right path."

Jews and Christians:. "errm...."

There's not answer to that claim. It's unfalsifiable. Yet believed by all Muslims. I call it the Reverse Takeover gambit. As if you come on the market with a new product and claim that it's actually all the products before it, just better.
