What is it with Trump Derangement? | Victor Davis Hanson

TDS is at “an all time high”, says Berkeley professor Victor Davis Hanson.

I agree. From random college students interviewed on their spring break, to demonstrating grannies on roadsides, to the Late Night hosts, right up to senior leadership, so many appear, to me, sitting here in Hong Kong, supping from a variety of media, seem to me off the planet. They are inhabiting a differed universe. Though I should say “bubble”, I suppose. About which I’ve written before.

Brice Springsteen is out there, yelling (liberals, young and old, do an awful lot of screaming), contrasting Dems and Reps:
Democracy over Authoritarianism
Rule of law over lawlessness
Ethics over unbridled corruption
Unity over division
Peace over war

Ok, sure Bruce. But which is which? I could make a grounded case that the left side of the list is the Reps. while Springsteen is delusional enough to think it’s the Dems who are the “Democracy over authoritarianism”. (But I won’t for now. Too tedious. Save to say a powerful facts-based case can be made for my side of this duality).

Meantime Late Night hosts are so Trump delusional that they’re against the war in Iran. Not for any reason. After all, Democrats have called for the regime to be stopped, for decades.  No. They do not have a reason to be against it. Just Trump hatred. Putting TDS over national security.
