The prodigiously eloquent Rafe Heydel-Mankoo gives us Cultural Marxism in five minutes.
I’ve written about Cultural Marxism since the beginning of this blog. The Left want to convince us that it’s a “just a conspiracy theory”, because they don’t want us to notice. Noticing makes it more troublesome for them to pursue it.
But the evidence is there, has been there and remains in front of our eyes. Cultural Marxism is a thing.
The simplest distinction between Classical Marxism and Cultural Marxism is this:
- Classical Marxism is about Class. The capitalist class oppresses the working class. Everywhere over all time. This was what Marx gave us. Thanks a bunch, Karl…
- Cultural Marxism is about Race and identity. White peoples oppress people of colour. Everywhere over all time. This was what the Frankfurt School, European post-modernists and various other nut jobs and weirdos gave us. Antonio Gramsci for example.
The common factor: Oppression.
Eg: Israel is (deemed to be) white. Palestinians are people of colour. Ergo: Israel oppresses Palestinians. No further argument or nuance is necessary.
ADDED: A good book to read on this is Christopher Rufo “America’s Cultural Revolution”.
Also: Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay “Cynical Theories, Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity…”.
