There’s a catch in the last para highlighted above: that solar needs both storage and new grid. That makes it a lot more expensive than it seems if just looking at the cost of the panes. Still, what China’s doing in renewables is considerable. Just that they’re not also going along with the Greens’ views to immediately halt all fossil fuels. It’s not going to do that.
