“Nuclear Energy is the most reliable energy source and it’s not even close” | Department of Energy

Click above for video
Senator John Kennedy, in interesting go at the Department of Energy. Increasing subsidies to the renewables sector: OK. Decreasing subsidies to the fossil fuels sectors: Ok, with caveats. Decreasing subsidies to the nuclear sector: WHY? Especially given what they say on their own website, as he points out above.

Don’t be fooled by Kennedy's southern drawl. He’s on top of the subject. Click back to the beginning of the clip above for his take on Renewables, etc. Which is basically: “I support all of these”.

He’s also had a go at David Turk, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Energy. For proposing that the US spend $50 TRILLION to the year 2030, without even knowing how much that will impact the temperature rise, if at all, and without having done any cost/benefit analysis. Politics is about choices. You have limited money (though Biden and Co often act as if it’s limitless) and you have to work out where to spend it. People like Michael Shellenberger and Bo Lomborg are both climate activists, who argue that spending only on reducing carbon emissions is not the best spend.
