Creating our own dog’s breakfast | “Thousands flood new rapid results platform”

Hospitals in Hong Kong are overcrowded because anyone with the virus, sick or not, is going there. And people testing positive are expected to go into quarantine instead of staying at home.

Simple solution, what’s done elsewhere: tell people self-testing positive to stay at home for five days. If their home is too small give them a hotel room.  There. Done deal.

But no. Because Beijing “experts” are here and they’re still living in 2020 zero Covid policy, we’re back to same same policies of 2020. With lockdowns and mass testing. And full hospitals and empty quarantine facilities.

As for the numbers, it looks like cases have peaked. They won’t admit that, our government. And maybe it isn’t quite, yet. But just about, if you take account of how Omicron has panned out in every other country.
