I remember early in the pandemic a letter in The Lancer pouring scorn on the idea that the virus may have been a leak from a laboratory. I even posted about it and quoted it to folks as being a debunking of a conspiracy theory.
I didn't know at the time that the authors of that letter had huge conflicts of interest —partners with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the suspect lab — and the letter was later retracted. But only after everyone had got the message — that it was not, repeat not, a lab leak! Mmkay?…
Alexandros Marinos traces some of the other shames on The Lancet. Whose editor appears to be a Marxist. And I would say that a Marxist should be disqualified as editor of a major Medical journal. I mean, look at Marx's views on science. He described socialism and communism as "scientific", for goodness sake!
