ADDED: back in 1937 young Russians supported Stalin as he slaughtered thousands of their countrymen. Here. They were, according to contemporary reports, “…solidly behind the Stalin government and utterly out of sympathy with the malcontents”. Today, those “malcontents” would be the few brave folk demonstrating against the war. I fear that any hope we might have of popular revolt is vain.
