It’s true that Chinese apparatchiks are super sensitive to criticism. And Wang Yi (above) s one the the worst of them.
Part of that is the hangover from the Hundred Years of Humiliation. And that’s surely understandable: stealing Chinese land by Unequal Treaties. But it’s now. Not then. And a confident country doesn’t need to live off victimisation for ever. Get over it.
