Consider the points by Batya Ungar-Sargon, above. I’ve followed Batya for some years and have both her books — Bad News, about the history of The New York Times, and Second Class, about elites betraying the working class.
Which is exactly what young, cute, personable, hypocrite AOC does: betray her working class, the class she did indeed rise from, as a bartender in New Jersey.
Remember: her signature “win” a few years back was to block the opening of an Amazon fulfilment centre, because she didn’t like Jeff Bezos. Or something. Thus denying 10,000 jobs to the working class of her district. Way to go, ditzhead! Not.
Summary from Batya:
- Twice as many billionaires supported Harris-Waltz as supported Trump-Vance, in 2024.
- 90% of the richest counties in the United States are Democrat
- 65% of Americans with annual salaries over $500,000 vote Democrat
- Trump “crushed” amongst people earning less than $100,000 per year.
I’ve fact checked them all. They’re all true. Though the first one is a touch exaggerated since the figure from Forbes is 1.6 to 1, vs 2 to 1. Which we can but down to rounding up, and also making a more easily recallable stat, while not misrepresenting the key point — that many more billionaires supported Kamala than Trump, which is the opposite of the BS Bernie and AOC narrative they’re spreading around the country right now as we speak, as I write.
