Sajid Javid: “Zero Covid has been an absolute disaster"

Good for a senior minister to go on long-form non-mainstream media. There should he more of it. I was impressed by Javid’s clarity and stratigheorwardness.

The UK is the most open country in the world post-Covid and is doing fine. Cases are hugely up (though they no longer measure) but intensive care in hospital are steady
Do we wish ill on China’s Zero Covid policy? Why yes. And not just for schadenfreude. It’s because both in China and here in Hong Kong, people realise that unless if fails, there will never be any way out. It will be repeated restrictions, rinse and repeat, all the way down.
