We go solar !

The other side still to go. Will be fitted today
We are now better than “net zero” — coz the electricity we get from the grid is nuclear generated, from Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station. And now, as of next Wednesday, we sell our solar to the grid, China Light and Power.

For it to be worthwhile doing, the government has to subsidise rooftop solar via Feed-in-Tariff. Here in HK they do so at a pretty high FiT of $HK 5/KwH.

The above array capacity is 19 Kw. Enough for the whole house year round and left-over to sell back to the grid of CLP. I calculate a return of 12-15% on the investment up to 2033 when FiT stops.
